So after more than a few months of being out of the world I finally got back into the world of Flames of War and I just had a few questions.

I've got a Hungarian Puskas Szazad and I was looking at turning it into a Bicycle Infantry Company (http://flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/Hungarian-Corp.pdf) but I don't have any experience with a company in which all of the combat platoons are Recce. It looks cool because they can cooperate to reveal enemy units and make better use of cover moving up, but at the same time they can be forced to disengage from enemy shooting, which seems to make them a little bit of a double edged sword. Can anyone offer some insight on what they've found the best tactics for Recce troops to have been?

Additionally, I want to expand to playing the Late War without spending all the money of making an entirely new company because I'm not really in a place where I can devote the time and space to the level of hobbying I require of myself. If you were playing against someone using their Hungarians as a LW Grenadierkompanie from an Ostbattalion would it bother you?

Thanks,

The Walrus

Depending on the quality of painting/modelling/details this might bother me a little bit (moreso than 40k proxies), but I wouldnt turn down a game.

Check out our new, fully plastic tabletop wargame - Maelstrom's Edge, made by Dakka!

NEVER! we all enjoy FOW and welcome a player and what ever force they play its common for a mid war list to add a support option or two to bring it up to a late war list the FOW gaming community is a bit more friendly and laidback you might try checking out the New England FOW yahoo group for moe chat about your force and some feed back on recce forces....

Thanks for the response Legoburner. I'd love nothing more than to play my Hungarians in the Late War as themselves but with all the time they've spent on the LW they can't seem to find the time to update the minor powers to the LW. On that note, has anyone seen any homebrew LW lists for the minor powers floating around? My friend and I both play minor powers (we started playing against a Russian opponent) and we're desparate to play our armies in the LW.

Thanks,

The Walrus
