How do people use the WarWalkers, they don't seem so great but I love the mini. So how do people use them and arm them?

A squad of 3 armed with x2 scatterlasers each. 24 str 6 shots.

Have a Farseer Guide them. Re-roll to hit.

They can Outflank.

Yes, they are fragile, but use cover and other units to grant cover saves.

Also, twin EMLs work wonders. 6 Krak missles can make light/med vehicles take note.

I use 6 EMLs on mine, which is very frustrating for my opponents, because while I can shoot them, they often can't shoot me back, and with that kind of destructive power (6 plasma missiles... mmmm) the warwalkers are a priority target.

Hardly unique but I use the the double scatter lasers and outflank. With two Autarchs in my army they come in pretty much right off the get go.

When I deploy little or none of my force my opponent has to guess where I'll come in or keep his own in reserves (coming in at a much slower rate then my 2+ on turn two).

The walkers are protected until they come onto the board and the 36" allows them to minimise what shoots at them.

The other thing I discovered, by accident, is that units without PF/PK have a problem dealing with them in cc so they *can* make a tarpitting unit. My friend was able to hold up my Stormboys for several turns because Str 4 grenades hitting and penetrating on 6's just doesn't work and 2 PF attacks need to hit and actually destroy something to unlock the tarpitted unit.

Tarpitting might not be the best use for them in most games but if they stop a scoring unit from getting to its destination and preventing a draw/loss it works for me.
