Yeah, but aren't the Nightmares quite a bit bigger than the regular troops? The pics for the basic plastic rats show what looks like a Progenitor carrying some kind of heavy weapon with a gunshield mounted on it. The arms look more armored on that guy.
I whipped up a Plague Trooper today, too. I like how the new plastic versions of them have a carapace. It ties them in with the Stage 2 more. These guys would also make very nice cultists for the Death Guard.

Not much to update. I painted up an apocalyptic survivor priest this weekend, but I'm not going to post him until I get his Rabbi buddy finished. I also built a new computer desk for myself, but that's not particularly wargaming related. I did manage to teach my cousin to play Mantic's Walking Dead last night and got in two games with him. The plan now is to have a big 3 player co-op game on Thanksgiving using my Battle Systems terrain to spruce things up. Should be fun.

Equilibrium was a really dumb movie, but I can totally see why it's a guilty pleasure for people.
So, I got my holy men finished last night.
We got a Crucifix wielding priest
and a rabbi with a pipe.
Both figures came from the Phalanx Consortium's Skirmish: Ragers zombie apocalypse survivor Kickstarter. I'll admit, these two were a big part of why I backed that Kickstarter. Who wouldn't want these two in their warband, kicking ass in the name of the Lord?
Oh, yeah, and I painted another Mantic Plague Trooper.

I love the priest and the Rabbi!
The Plague guy's clothing and skin colors blend together in my eyes. It makes it look like he is fighting pantsless.

Yeah, the clothing blending into the skin was something I was a bit worried about when I painted him. It doesn't look quite so bad in person. Speaking of looking better in person, I painted some more Plague last night and one of them has camo pants, but the colors got so blended together they're hard to make out.
The other guy came out better.
And I painted one of my GCPS Rangers. The head is a bit androgynous, but this is supposed to be a female head.
I should probably go back over her face with some highlights. I noticed that the skin on her face wound up not matching the skin on her hands very well. For some reason, the green pouches and knife sheaths on her also came out looking grey. They're not grey, they're green.

Bald plague looks pretty striking. I thought yours were more of a pinkish/ purple hue though- or is that just the original Deadzone guys?
Rate you're going we ought to have a proper DZ game as well.

Yeah, my original Deadzone ones were a sort of purplish pink. I wanted some variety among them, so I used the same colors I've been using on my Walking Dead zombies. Interestingly, the plastic Stage 3s have a boney carapace while the restic Stage 3s don't. I suppose the difference in coloration could be explained as being due to the others lacking the carapace.

I like that GCPS ranger. The official paint jobs make the models look like they are wearing really tight pants-- being able to actually see the straps really improves the model.

Got in a post Thanksgiving dinner game of Walking Dead All Out War with Highlord Tamburlaine and our cousin. This time we did a larger scale co- op game using my Battle Systems terrain. I gotta say, the 3d terrain really adds to the immersion.
Forgive the blurry pic. I was trying to take it on my phone.

Some better shots.
2 mats and we didn't even use close to everything that was included in the pledge, ending up with a very dense and tightly packed play area.
Interior detail of some of the buildigns, roof included.
A bit of the scatter terrain.
Got me excited to actually open up my scifi stuff and build it with the kids!

Man, your pics turned out so much better than mine.
I've been fighting with my laptop lately. About two days ago, it started acting weird. Really slow, monitor not receiving any signal, not going into sleep mode properly, and videos not playing properly. I've run virus scans and malware scans, but nothing is coming up. It's really weird. But, it may affect me regarding posting pictures in the near future. I'm planning to replace my laptop with a shiny new PC soon, so that should certainly fix my problems.
So, while I can still post photos, I finished up the last few figures from my plastic Plague spure. Here's the last trooper, who is running while slightly leaning forward, making him very difficult to photograph.
Here's the Plague Hound, which is also on the sprue.
With the troops all built, there's still a few parts leftover on the spure. The mortar, several arms, three special weapons, and several heads. I figured I'd make use of some of those leftover bits and make myself the mortar and a crew for it. Using some of Mantic's sci-fi zombies, I was able to cobble together some especially weirdly proportioned crewmen.
I suppose the nice thing about the Plague being so weirdly proportioned is that I can actually make a conversion like this work.

Got in a game of Shadows of Brimstone today with my cousin, Highlord Tamburlaine, and BobtheInquisitor. I think this was the first time I actually survived a mission.
This was really early into the game.
Here's the first encounter, an ambush by zombies.
The game has a ton of cards.

The running Plague guy and the dog feel very dynamic for multipose plastics. The paint adds a lot of interest to them, too. Love the Doggy's nose and the plague guy's face.
The Mortar crew look so left out. "Hey, I wanna go shoot da guys." "Nah. We're supposed to stay here and draw their fire."
The Brimstone game was fun. Glad we had a chance to play.

Alright, better pics of Hacker Half-tail today.
I wanted to get a pic of his wrist tablet computer, too. I thought an arm mounted motion tracker would be a cool detail for him.
And back to painting more of my Weeping Legion Plague Marines.
I like this guy's look a lot. The Plague Bearer face on his shoulder is a neat touch. I wonder if these guys that have animated faces and stuff on their armor ever talk them? Like, do you think he ever talks to his shoulder mounted Plague Bearer?

I picked up a Goliath gang on Black Friday. I figured I'd go ahead and at least get one of them painted. I'll have to work on them alongside my Weeping Legion Vectorum. Speaking of, these new Goliaths are huge! This guy is just as big as one of the new Death Guard!
So, I figure a lot of people are going to go with the standard colors. I didn't really want to go with what everyone else is doing. I figured since House Goliath is supposed to be running the foundries and smelters, a good industrial scheme would suit them. So I went with a nice hazard yellow and chevrons. I think it suits him pretty well.

I got another Plague Marine finished up. I got this guy finished back on Wednesday, actually.
I'll be going on vacation to Japan next Wednesday, so I won't have access to my Pile of Shame for a little while. So, my goal right now is to complete five more Plague Marines before I leave. Shouldn't be too hard. I have two more that are nearly finished.

I'm going to be heading out on vacation to Japan in a couple of days to visit my brother. I set a goal for myself to complete four converted Plague Marines before I left. Well, mission accomplished. Not only did I complete all four, but aside from getting him based, I completed a fifth conversion as well. I'll post pics of him when I get back though. Feast your eyes on my rather simple conversions.
I made that guy because I wanted a second special weapon in the squad that wasn't just a blight launcher or a plasma rifle. I wanted a flamer and the Plague Belcher is pretty much that.
This guy, one of the data slates I'd seen- I don't know where it came from, probably the Index- but it listed that a Plague Marine can take a second Plague Knife as an option. I figured this guy could work as either carrying a second Plague Knife or a Plague Sword. Either way, I thought the idea of having a dude dual wielding blades would be neat.
Now, as you can see, all of these guys are pretty simple conversions. Mostly just swaps of arms, heads, and some backpacks. I carved off a few details here and there just to add some variety, but the overall main goal was to create some diversity among my Plague Marines (no doubled poses!) without having to resort to using Green Stuff. The guy who probably took the most work was the swordsman. I was actually planning on breaking my rule and sculpting a gut plate on him, but once I'd carved off the growths from his abdomen, I really liked how it looked and just reshaped that area to look more like an apron. I really wish I'd had a cleaver to give him. In order to get a bit more variety, I did use some extra heads from the multipose guys though.

I'm currently on vacation in Japan. I was able to do a little bit of shopping this afternoon and bought a couple of model kits. I got Bandai's Hg Zaku Half-Cannon and the Rose type Governor from Kotobukiya's Hexa Gear line.
Because she's such a small kit, I was able to assemble the Rose figure during some down time.
I think she's actually a bit better than the male types. She holds together a lot better and with the way the hands attach, they stay on much better, too. Weapons are fixed to specific hands though. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Oh, I opened them. I even built one. I found them at Yodabashi Camera. I actually found them cheaper at Amiami's brick & mortar shop in Akihabara, but I only grabbed a couple.
Here's the one I assembled. They're all snap together kits and they all have swappable heads.
This guy is Brother Titus. He's posed mid reload. Each figure comes with a unique stat card and bio. Weirdly, the stats are completely different from actual 40k stats.
The bio is totally in Japanese, of course.
