That Norse discount is quite tempting too.

I was REALLY impressed with the 3d sculpted norse guys. So much nicer and beefier- not to detract from the quality of the original sculpts in any way, but these new guys are the kind of heroic looking models I want in a skirmish game. The details are so much more impressive.

What other Norse units been resculpted to the new scale? The Holumenn seem done but what about Rollo, Knutr, etc?

Eh, it's about 50% off now with the guy included, so its a wash. I know you're pissed about your delayed items (i'm in the same boat), but this is how they keep the lights on now. Unless you just want to watch it burn, if you want to one day get the rest of your stuff, it's probably better if some people but it...

A short update on metals.

The machinery is set up on site (although I do need a bigger ladle / furnace at some point soon) and after speaking to the mould-makers yesterday we are good to go.

It will take some time to get everything sorted but I am confident we should be able to clear the metals backlog in 2020.

First up: Reiver Hunters, Kaarstan and Maari; they have the biggest numbers waiting. Plus the new Itaina. So we should be shipping those in March.

Next month will be the Sávrakar (April shipment), then Holumenn/Bowmen (May), then Werwulfas (June), then Toxotes/Iliotoxotes (July), Spear-Vras (August)... you get the picture.

It may not be totally set in stone, it all depends on promises kept, etc., but I am fairly certain. We'll be chucking in characters from the units' kindred, and I'll try to ensure new things get metals immediately, the same time as the release date.

We do always get there in the end...

1) Mierce hasn't made much headway on the huge backlog of miniatures they owe me

and

2) Mierce hasn't run a Kickstarter for miniatures since...Jan 2018?!?

and because of that:

Yes, some of it is "because metals", but I've got a fair amount of resin on there too.

But at the same time, to the best of my knowledge, some of these miniatures haven't even been sculpted yet!

Yes, I'm thinking of the Mallax, but there's a lot more too.

So sad - and possibly entering 'tears in rain' territory soon too, if not already there!

they've not run a KS because the community was getting burned out with things slipping more and more (and ordering less and less from the KS as they knew they could wait until stuff was sculpted and just grab it then)… Rob has said no more KS until they're up to date

so now they're dependant on retail sales (and sales to generate them) and that's slow going, but it is going as you do see folk posting about stuff being delivered from the KS backlog (I'm waiting for a big chunk of stuff myself although a lot of it is metal now)

and because a fair number of customers are also KS backers they've got to sculpt new stuff outside of the KS to get them to shop (because they got the KS stuff at the time, or preordered it later when sculpts were shown) and that means the KS stuff takes even longer to sculpt, mould, cast etc

I'm still fairly confident we'll get the goodies, but on what time scale? I'll wait and see

That sounds pretty awful to be fair. For the KS buyers, I mean. And it doesn't seem to make much sense either. They need to make new stuff to sell to the people that have backed the KS? The same people that are waiting on KS product are also willing to buy new non-KS stuff that gets priority over theor already purchased KS stuff? Sounds a bit backwards (this coming from someone who dropped out after KS6ish. I can imagine I'd be a bit annoyed if I'd stayed in until KS20 and was still waiting for stuff from KS10).

they're selling to other people too of course, but those of us who backed many of the KS projects are those that really like the look and feel of the minis &/or the game etc so are likely to remain customers

so most 'new' things they release will appeal to us KS backers(they're not going to be making stuff that's inherently for a different customer base)

now i'm sure some have stopped buying entirely, or cut down (like me, if something new comes along I want i'll go for it but i'm getting less than from the KS), but as long is it's new content people want I don't see it as a bad thing that some of the profit that's being made from them is going into fulfilling their old KS stuff

It is too bad that it's gotten to the point that they need to sculpt the new models to keep things going, but it beats them going under while trying to finish what they can of the KS backlog with what money they have. At least in doing the new models along side finishing the backlog, they have something fresh to offer the original fans, while also providing the finished KS stuff to new fans, as it's released. I've seen a lot of smaller mini companies like mierce go under in the last few years, and the market is really tough, now that GW has righted itself after the terrible AoS launch, and is moving forward stronger than ever. If Mierce is able to both finish the backlog, and still provide new content (even if it is slower than most would like), that ultimately keeps the company valid. For them to not just try to launch another KS (their last KS in 2018 had no miniatures in it BTW), or give up and go belly up, is good. Still... I want's them MAMMAX!!!

Well.. it took a long time... But I finaly dipped my toe into mierce minatures!!! The half price monstrous infantry was a good bargain so thought Id hand over my £20 and get some resin goodness

I got one of the crouching werefolfs and the Xes, Pyrokolossos Dekarcho

Looking forward to these painting projects.
Giving them a chance to see how good their minis are.

If they ever do a sale on big mosters/dragons I think I might get a credit card just take the hit...

There's been sales on the big stuff before, and I'm sure there will be again.

I've enjoyed a lot of the post KS models they've released, even if a few were just resculpts of existing models (but made the lines more unified in design).
