The landing pad is rather meh and the Ironclad is rather wimpy.

I like everything except the ironclad dread. It just looks like a normal dread with random crap added on everywhere. The terrain is awesome.

The terrain is SO hot. I want to see the ironclad up close. It doesn't look different enough as it is.

I'm dying to see what else comes out for planetstrike too.

Appears that the new bastion terrin is stackable (ie. it can be multi-level), and that the one seen in the BGB (or whatever we're calling the new one) was a prototype.

Have to admit the landing pad is a little underwhelming, although as someone above me said it is a landing pad - so what was I expecting really? The cool part of the original Landing Pad wasn't the pad itself, but the rocks and the big building to the side.

But we have the bastion... what are the other parts, with the sloped buttresses and so on? Are we getting plastic defensive cannons?

Need to see more. I'm surprised there aren't more reports about the rules and upcoming kit releases.

From what I've seen on FW and other conversions, why is GW Ironclad so skinny?

I think you might be on to something, unfortunately!

I don't see steps in any of the pictures, and some people are saying they've seen the sprues (4 identical ones, apparently, make up the pad), and no mention of steps yet...

yeah reading the book.
the landing platform is held aloft by four struts, each has a ladder on the inside which may be used to move up onto the platform, on a difficult terrain test roll of 3 or more....

no stairs

plus reading more the trim/edges of the platform can move up and down, to make a sheilded platform or a unfurled(unsheilded) platform as in the picture.
sheilded gives a 4+ save.
unfurled allows disembarking at speed.
you can switch between modes at the start of the movement phase, as long as you have a non-vehicle model in contact and no enemy are nearby.

With all this detail for a platform with petals... why didn't they do the same for the drop pod...
