The best pics are at the bottom of this thread.

I had a bunch of mounted vampires along with some other miniatures lying around and decided to try to put together a unit of blood knights. The one on the far left is a high elf hero that I converted to a vampire with some creative filing, scraping and sculpting. The next one from the left is an old mounted vampire with the sword replaced with a battle standard pole. The next one is a mounted vampire lord. It's the one with the metal barded nightmare. The next one is another mounted vampire with the sword replaced with a lance. The next one is the wight king that came with the zombie dragon. I replaced the sword with a lance. The last one is another one of the mounted vampires. Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics. They look like crap, anyway, because they're not even close to being finished. Good idea? Will I get a lot of flack for trying to make my own considering they're one of the most $expensive$ units that GW has released? Pics Below

Under the Himalaiyan mountains

Blurry picture is blurry.
:/

"I.. I know my time has come" Tethesis said with a gasp, a torrent of blood flowing from his lips.
"No! Hang on brother!!" Altharius could feel the warmth slip away from his dear sibling's hands

Tethesis's reached out his bloodied arm to Altharius's face.
"I..I have one final request"
Altharius leaned close to listen, tears welling in his once bright eyes.
"make sure th..they put my soulstone in a tank... it'll be... real fethin' cool"
"Yes, you're gonna be the most fethin' cool tank!!" burning hot tears streaked down Altharius's face, as he held his brother's soul in his grasp.

Here's one of the standard. I still need to make a banner for it.

And here's one of the finished blood knights (except for the base).

They're done sans the bases. Here's the musician. He's a high elf hero that I converted.

Here's the last generic one

Here's a group shot

Feedback and criticism is appreciated.

These ended up looking pretty good. Form your first pics they looked a little to mis matched, but once they were all painted up they go together fairly well. I myself would prefer a little more shading and higlighting on the vamipires and horses armor and the horses flesh, but maybe you already di that and the camera is just not showing it very well.

Good luck. I prefer wight cavalry in my VC army, but these guys can be monsters when used correctly.

I wanted them all to look different. I'm not a big fan of having matching elite heavy cavalry in any fantasy army. These guys are one step down from a hero so they should have a lot of individuality. That does make them hard to tie together as a unit, though. As for the shading the camera didn't pick it up very well at all. I really need to learn more about the settings because it likes to wash out colors and blend them too much.

I have a ton of black knights as well. They're just the old, vanilla models, though, so I haven't bothered taking pics yet .
