11 twin-linked flamers, 18 twin-linked multi meltas, tons of mobility, 6 scoring units. vulkan and tac squad sits on objective, while the 5 bike squads and 3 sttack bike squads with their MMs go a killin.

there is a weird part of me that really wants 3 thunderfire cannons with this army, even though I really don't like them.

Perhaps you should buy 10 scouts with camoline instead of the marines because I'm going to guess their for holding objectives and i think that scouts would do that better plus give'em sniper rifles so they will have a 36 inch range and can sit back and try to pin your 10 marines will just sit in the back and be outta range with everything other then that seems like an awesome list good luck!

The only things I would do to that list is maybe drop 1 or 2 of those MMs for HBs and make sevral of those flamers melta guns. the melta guns give you a couple extra shots to kill MCs/tanks. I would also drop 1 of those bike squads to put 2 more stock bikes in each of the remaining bike squads. Do that and the scout comment TCP made and I think you have a REALLY hard to beat list.

So, what? You run Vulkan around on foot all by himself?

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed the 10 man Tac squad.

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. Wow! That's a cool concept, Salamander Bikers! I really like what you've got here.

I like the three Thunderfire idea, you might like that better than one of the Bike squads, actually, for some long range supression fire, which will be awesome to have in conjunction with a fast moving, but somewhat light hitting army. They'd give you a great option against hordes, and it would further emphasise your mobility superiority when you use Tremor rounds to pin down parts of the battlefield and zoom around.

However, also in keeping with the Salamanders theme, but departing a bit from the bikers, how about adding at 2500:

Assault Terminators x5 Thunderhammer/Storm Shield
+ Land Raider Redeemer, Extra Armor, Multi-Melta

465 pts

Here's a great place to let Vulkan hop in for a ride, too; the LRR can seat 6 TDA/12 PA. Plus, as a dedicated transport, it leaves all three Heavy slots open for TH Cannons.

yeah, I was considering that, but it just didn't seem in theme for me. I will admit that in practice (i.e. a tournament) this would be a better idea.

@Generalretreat -- I have a tough time convincing myself to take a lone land raider, as all the AT fire on the board will focus on it, and the more dice that are rolled, the more likely it is that I have wasted 250+ points. At 2500 points, I will probably take 3 TF cannons and an ironclad in a pod with melta and HF.

taking out a bike squad and changing the tac squad gives me 300 points for 3 thunderfire cannons, which I think gives this army some much needed firepower.
