Hi,

Since 3rd Ed. I always enjoyed scratch building stuff, in particular vehicles and such, for the 40K hobby.

I have always wanted to scratch build a titan or super heavy tank, but since I returned to the hobby after a long break, I have discovered that most of these can now be purchased as kits.

Is there anything worthwhile left to scratch build?

That's exactly my point, there isn't one yet... I'm thinking about taking an Eldar Revenant Titan and converting it to be for the dark eldar, but I won't be able to for a good long while because i can't afford it yet.

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

I thought the D Eldar were kind of pirates ,hitting fast , then getting out fast, ( with a few slaves for fun later ). Not the kind of tactics condusive to super heavys or titans.

Don't forget to call it a name which means something evil and begins with 'R', all the DE vehicles do it (Except the Talos)

Raider
Ravager
Reaver
Raven

Repressor Titan?

Bloody Peasant!

Maybe Ravisher Titan? It'd fit with the sick depravity that we have come to know and love from the Dark Eldar.

Also, I think a titan would totally make sense for the Dark Eldar. Not a heavily armed or armored one in any sense in relation to the other available titans, but fast and creatively brutal, perhaps specializing in close combat? I kind of look at the titans like the gundams or other related mobile power armoured vehicles, some specialize in heavy weaponry, heavy armour, or other such qualities, while others specialize in speed, or perhaps flight. After all, how are you going to kill a giant when all you have is spears, arrows, and leather armour by comparison?

Well, i guess because the DE are pirates.. maybe their super heavies are like the tau, fast hitting flyers.

I'd love to see one. Once I have the next two or three dozen projects out of the way, I'd love to scratch build an Ordinatus looted by orks.

My thoughts exactly. The first 4 posts are like the 4 stages of evolution of a rumour thread.

1 - Rumour

2 - Sarcastic rebuttal

3 - Sensible discussion

4 - Wishlisting
