I was thinking in the area of a Warhound, can Space Marine's have them?

With Xmas coming up, well according to my kid, maybe someone (the wife) will finally get one for me. Probably something a lot cheaper is more realistic.

In game terms is the Land Raider Achilles any good?

1 Thunderfire cannon, 2 twin linked multi meltas and heat armour

Space marines can use titans but only in apocalypse games, so get the rule book and you are set., will also tell you what the different weapon arms do too.
Forgeworld do 2 different Warhounds, both are nice.
if you are interested in the Achilles, I can scan & send the rules for it to you.

This week has seen the result of Wolf Priest Halge pestering that he'd perform better if he was to lead some blood claw into battle.
After careful consideration Buliwyf selected 5 of the most promising candidates.

"Now stop complaining and go prove your boosting" Buliwyf exclaimed to Wolf Priest Halge

As the mist and smoke of battle subsided, Buliwyf spied the remnants of Wolf Priest Halge pack, the enemy strong point had been taken due Halge swift movement, losses to the remainder of the Lycan from this position would have been heavy if Halge had not removed this threat.
Buliwyf swore quietly to himself, "There will be no living with him nowtheir worth been proven".

I had no use for the Swift Claw in my army, but as I'd painted up a wolf Priest with jump pack he was unlikely to achieve anything on his own.
So far with careful selection of target and swift movement through cover Halge's pack has achieved wonders..... though at great cost, very few if any survive to the end of the game.

Well so mush for having time for my Lycan.

Major flood in the upstairs bathroom resulting in no ceiling in the kitchen. Repairs have to be completed by the end of the month.

Nah. Codex: BA is really just an angry Codex:SM army with assault Marines as troops. The SW codex allows more mixes of weapons, all the Grey Hunters have CCWs, for example.

I think this point was raised once before, it was only my opinion...............................each to their own.

Should have was updates soon.
2 Units of long Fangs painted just the bases to complete.

With 2 wholes weeks off over Christmas I should get some time with my Lycan.......................though the Necron are calling.

Finally.

Christmas allowed time to get some painting done.

These Long Fangs started as Blood Claws, but time took it course, age and experience transmuted them into Long Fangs.
I just checked back, I started these back in August, I have to do better this year or I'll never finish.

I said this before , but I just love Dreadnought's. I cannot get enough. This one make number 4.
This is the old metal Bjorn the Fell-handed, I was at first disappointed with the poor quality of this model, but still had to do something with it..........just cost too much to bin it.

It did not come out too bad.

I forgot how much I hated metal figures. You get some great painting results then you have to varnish them...................well see for yourselves.

I'm building a Landariader for the Chapter commander and I'm looking for ideas to make this vehicle stand out.

So far I've added to wolf heads and fur to just above the front lights.
So I'm open to any ideas.

Picked up a box of thunder-wolves over the weekend to give my conversion Lord on Wolf some support (though he does not seem to need it).

What is the best mix, another thunder hammer/storm shield or what?

Lords Honour Guards complete as well as another Long Fang Squad, I'll post pictures if theres any interest.

Shields to give them a bit of survivability as anything with a big gun will try to blow them away... they are killing machines.

How about magnetising 1 of them at the shoulder so you can swap between power weapon or thunder hammer. That way you can use him to fight against any opponent.

As power weapons are good against infantry/ heavy infantry, but the Thunder hammer will wreck tanks.

As for the Land raider how about a row of circular shields on a small rail along the sides of the Land Raider above the hatches, you could do them all with Bulwyfs emblem or do them individual symbols to represent each warrior who will be charging from within (in theory).

Maybe some Celtic knot work on the doors or roof?

The Immortal – Buliwyf’s Guard
At the start of the Lycan’s history a small number of marines were chosen to prove their worth in battle against Arch Hieratic Countess Palin. In the conclusion of that epic battle the Lycan had proven themselves and Buliwyf rose from Sergeant to the Chapter Master of the newly formed Lycan.
Throughout the events in the Lycan’s history these founding members have always proven themselves, never loyal to their Chapter Master and constantly battling at his side. Buliwyf now relies on these stalwart and resolute warriors like no other.
Not all are suited to become Battle Leader or Wolf Guard, but the need for recognition exists, for Buliwyf the answer was simple, they like him would mark their origins with their founding colours, theirs on their Helm, and as they always fought at his side they would form his Honour Guard.
Their chapter bothers look on these warriors with awe, nothing seems able to kill them, quietly at first the name ‘Immortal’s’ was spoken but overtime the name stuck.

Footballs over for us for another two years, so more time to get some painting done.
With the rumoured changes regarding power weapons I'm wondering if it an idea to change those claws for axes, I am going to to change out the swords.
What do you think
