It is my saving grace the last few weeks. Something satisfying about sitting and painting while watching person of interest or some other show on Netflix.

Still. glad nobody was hurt in the end.

Good work on the crash.
For colours, a deep blue-purple would work against the yellowy armour colour. Or a deep red to contrast with the cockpit green.

I'd keep my eye on that cat, it's planning to eat your face one day.

Might try the purple, though red has been calling me so much I've been looking at blood angels.

The cat was grandmas, it was lonely living in the house by itself while nanny was in the assisted living place. We tried taking it to live with nanny there, but it was all stressed out and keeping nanny up all night. So we adopted it even though all five of us are allergic. The night of the big brewhaha nanny demanded to have the cat back at home with her, so we had to shove it in a box and take it over there. It cried and meowed all night and the next morning nanny told us to come get the damn thing again . Poor cat , it has been in our house for over a week now and has just finally jumped up onto my lap once yesterday. It is starting to approach us more and let us rub it.

Red Harvest wrote:Cat's telling you to up your game. You need to be a better pet to it. Petting a cat helps reduce stress y'know. Lowers blood pressure and all that. Maybe the cat was trying to help. Certainly it doesn't want to have to go through the effort to train another human to serve it. (Yes, I understand Cat Logic... which is why I have a dog and a couple of parrots. )

Looks like you are missing just a couple of tail fin parts. If nothing else you could scratch build them for that Aquila.

Y'all will get the family drama sorted. Sad to hear the F-in-Law decided to make things difficult for everyone.

I'm sure I'll find the tail fin parts, I just opened one of my many boxes of GW and found these in with my old imp guard stuff.

See hilarious cat story below

Llamahead wrote:Excellent work on the models good luck with life. It ain't Karma though bad stuff just happens its how you cope with it that defines you.

Yeah I don't believe in Karma, this is just my cross to carry.

Okay here's the rest of the motor pool that was in the same box as the Aquila.

I just basecoated the really busted up chimera, more to do later.

Funny cat story
Spoiler:

So grandma has always called "Smokey" a boy cat. Though some times she would slip up and call it her (she's 89, and has had many cats over her lifetime). We took the cat in and my wife was petting it and said she couldn't see a penis on it and thought it was a girl. She called the vet and they said the initial paperwork said it was a boy, but all the other visits over its 14 year life show female. so we told grandma and she was laughing hysterically. So we started calling it a girl for the last week and it has been meowing like crazy. So my wife took it to get its rabies shots updated this week. The doctor said it was definitely a boy, but it took a while to locate his penis which is up high on his chest instead of down between his legs, and he is not well endowed . So the cat is back to being back to being a boy).

Oh I like tanks, not as much as you, but at one point (3rd edition I think ) I had every army in 40k. Imperial guard was going to be my main force, but I just couldn't get excited over them and I got a huge trade of marines for some of my other stuff.

GrimDork wrote:Lol wierd cat is wierd. We misguessed our cat's gender initially too but we got him sorted out.

Cats are definitely weird, but we can't have a dog because of our yard being small, not fully fenced and right by a big road.

Cats are awesome and will outlive all humans except those cryogenically frozen or turned into holograms as anyone who ever watched Red Dwarf could tell you . These have been in my boxes of shame for over a decade, I had to brush layers of dust off of them before painting for them to be salvageable. Now I need to find tracks .

Well I stopped by MM this morning to grab some more Zandri Dust paint and I also checked the other things. I keep picking up packs of Dark Age figures. I think there's enough for a full game of outcasts, 7 figs, but one is a saint luke character and one is a saint mark character. The whole lot would be $25, and I'd never get to play and don't have the books. I guess they could make neat inquisitorial henchmen , but I've picked them up and put them back on at least 6 trips. I did find a pack of Dystopian wars Canadian tanks (6) Wolfe tanks for $5. I forget what the skitarii tracked guys are called, but this could be the start of a squad of counts as dudes. Or mobile heavy weapon carry bits. Picks for size and ideas.

Clearly you just need to bite the bullet and buy them for your Inq Warband next time you're there. Then you can stop staring at them!

When I was in my 20's there were a few times I wanted to buy something, but decided "nahhhhh" at the time, and then later decided I wanted them, went back (days or weeks later) and they were gone - never to be gotten again.

Marouda told me then that if I thought I was going to regret not buying a thing, then I should just get it. I've kept that bit of advice in mind ever since, and it's been rare that I've had that kind of situational regret come around again.

So buy the Dark Age models. $25 isn't a huge amount, and they'll make nice painting palette cleansers.

Quite right, in fact they had old confrontation posters of wolfen for $5 forever at MM. I always was going to buy one for the basement, but kept thinking "Next time". I went in a few weeks ago and they had rearranged everything and I guess they finally pitched them .

Red Harvest wrote:Get them. Paint them. Enjoy the journey. You paint minis from so many ranges, might as well try a few from Dark Ages.

Yeah, kind of my feeling too you guys are no good for my budget

Well before I went to work yesterday I painted up one of the little tankettes.

The other 5 are all base coated and agraxed. Should be able to finish them in the A.M. Maybe before I go to MM.

You even use an airbrush, so I'm definitely not tackling 18 with a brush. Watching a YouTube of someone doing that tan color is what got me interested In trying it out. YouTube is my enemy.

Yep, but I detest the guard figs, so all that's getting painted are tanks, but maybe my Eisenkern will get some love.

You've been busy with Titan forging, so no worries . Appreciate the encouragement though.

Well I started playing with some plastic rod, then glue, and a bits box dig. Lots more to do on the weapon platform, but the skeleton of the lascannon segway is assembled. The precast hole on the top of the tank was the perfect size for a magnet, so the white tube base of the gun has a magnet in it as well.

I think height wise it works for both Eisenkern and catchans. The laser is an extra from some marine vehicle. I also have extra plasma cannons and assault cannons, so we might have choices.

Gun carriages look brilliant, been batting a similar idea around for ages, nice find on the Dys Tanks, still envy the close proximity to MM.

Oh, had a thought, you could throw servators torsos on these, but one of my ideas for ages has been as a stretcher bearer. Not much use in game I guess, but a nice little dio of a medic running along side. I mean after all Catachans must weigh a ton with all those bulky muscles.

The servitor idea was my first thought, but then I remembered everything looks better with guns .

The stretcher idea is also a good one, but the eisenkern have little walking stretchers for wounded and ammo toting, a trip through theos way back machine
