This thread assumes you ARE using your ogryn in some capacity. Maybe not in every game, maybe only once. How are they working for you? What are you doing with them? Are they proving to be worth their points cost?

That being said, I'll still give you a 0 if you bring more than 5 eldar skimmers. Don't be that guy.

I have used them in both games with the new codex that I have managed to get in so far:

Against Orks, I used a unit of 6 in a Chimera, with a Lord Commissar running behind for leadership (the ensuing hilarity was worth the effort alone). They killed or ran down about 60 Orks, even though the LC bit the powerklaw on the way, and their Chimera had to be used as bait once. Still, they were crucial clearing one whole flank (with a little fire support here and there).

The second time, I faced Eldar and used a squad of 5 without any attached IC's, on foot. I deployed them on one flank (Spearhead). They killed some Storm Guardians emerging from wrecked Serpent, a careless Autarch and the remnants of a broken squad of Hawks (only to get closer to the objective), and proceeded to threaten my opponent's objective for two turns - which, regrettably, they spent pinned. At that time, they were down to 2+ Bone'ead but they would have wrecked the half a dozen pathfinders.

So, they were entertaining, effective, and nice to field once again. I see no reason not to field them in the future. Not all the time perhaps but still. Now for the disclaimer: Those were 1850 point games. It might be difficult to shoehorn them into anything less because Guard doesn't revolve around deathstar units IMO.

I use my ogryn, and feel that they make brilliant paper weights. The solid metal models will keep your list tacked in place, even if there is a near by fan. When you add in the fact that that... Oh.... you meant did I include them in an army list? No.. oh no.

Good point. Thank you.

I just laughed rather hard.

"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

True they cost too many points but I have ran them with Yarrick for fun and have done pretty well. Now Marbo...

The Yarrik/Ogryn deathstar has been alot of fun for me. People just don't expect it! I try to go 2nd and put the bat fastards right in their face and hilarity ensues every time! Or outflanking them with creed works of a good laugh too.
