Hi,
Here's a topic for all you Space Marine addicts. What is the best Space Marine Chapter (alive or deceased), and why?

Yes i'm going to say it Ultra Marines, they saved the galaxy and owned some tyranids. They're primarch( i think) also redid the way chapters were made. But honestly Imperial Guard are better then everyone!

I have been playing Crimson Fists for years and have grown to be very fond of their background.
I have also been playing Emperor's Children for over 8 years, although not active for half of that, and the Heresy books make them even more interesting.
But that said, my personal army choices aside, for Chaos, in light of the Heresy Books, I find the Word Bearers to have been the most influential.
As for loyalists, I really cannot stand Ultrasmurfs. (Crimson Fists where on the cover of Rouge Trader and the 3rd ed codex, Ultramarines on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th ed Codex. They at one point had the most marines, the Crimson Fists were nearly wiped out. It is kind of like a Red Sox-Yankees thing to me, and I will take my Crimson Fists and Red Sox any day.)
The Imperial Fists are the greatest, they where chosen to defend Terra, enough said.

Crimson Fists! Simply because of the photo in the old Rogue Trader rulebook of them in front of the old school Land Raider started me playing this crazy game on and off for damn near twenty years. It was very similar in look to this photo (Not mine and I don't feel like scanning it).  That and they graced the cover. My Chapter has always been Crimson Fists (although I play Orks now).

The fluff says. Every Ultramarine Codex or Marine Codex has started with "The Ultramarines are the greatest Chapter of Space Marines" or words to that effect.

Duh, it is obviously Ultramarines. They are not Space Marines, they are Ultra Marines. Clearly the are better because Ultra > Space.
