I recently picked up the Imperial Armor: Apocalypse book and it has the Fighta rules and says it's a heavy support choice. So I'm looking looking into converting the Valkyre to a Fighta. Now the friends I play with wouldn't allow me to put a Stompa on the board because it's an entirely seperate class. But for something different I know the Fighta wouldn't be a problem since it's just a Heavy support.

Do any of you guys play with something different than what's in the standard codex in your regular games?

The imperial armour stuff is fine but warmachines and flyers have a huge potential to dominate the game and I would definately not recommend them for 40K.
