I'm looking for bits that would fit cadian IG troops to mod them into either female or long coated (or both) models with an eye toward making a mixed gender cadian force. Does anyone know of anything like this? Using greens to sculpt each guardsmen is too time consuming given the sheer number of models involved...

For women I've been greening up some hasslefree heads, but as I said, it's horrendously time consuming.

Non-GW companies make non-GW bits.

That should be obvious.

If you meant what companies make bits suitable for use with GW bits? (which is clearer and gets your point across much better).

West Wind, Pig Iron Productions, Hasslefree, Heresy, Reaper all do parts that are of a size to work with GW stuff.

As to female IG bits. I'm only familiar with the ones the Phoenix club commissioned to have made (and invitations were extended to various board members to take part). Their last project was for different IG rough-rider mounts (large bird-like critters) but I haven't heard from them in a while - Dr Thunder does post here when they are doing something, though.

Ah, I was hoping that someone made alternate longcoat style legs (like the officers have) for cadian guardsmen. I have a couple resin longcoat torso/leg sets that were made by someone (I forget who) but they're not very high quality sculpts.

Thanks for the tip on the Doc. I'll PM and see how one gets these female Cadians...

Wargames Factory is working on Great Coated Sci-Fi troopers at the moment. Mark Copplestone may be another one to look for.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Even within GW you might have some luck converting High Elf archers. Maybe wood elf or dark elf torsos could be mixed in? I've not tried.

For heads, as noted Westwind and Pig Iron fit very well (search the gallery to see some).

The Warstore sells Pig iron heads in the US.

Alpha Forge also makes some high tech human heads but I've not seen them used on GW figures.

And definitely check out Wargames Factory's Liberty and Union league. Their plastic great coats are a few months away but are looking good.

Ahhhhhh! Yes, those are the ones I have. Cadian heads and arms fit poorly, and though the resin itself is high quality, the parts I got had a great deal of flash from the molding process.. The extra bits are decent though.
