Been away from my orksess for a bit now. I am into insane large projects of other natures at mo, however I have a truly insane desire to make a Mega Gargant, so can anyone tell me the rough dimensions.

Current thinking is 18" square base and abour 24" tall.

I found this ork walker size comparison chart made by "Krooza", which suggests a Mega Gargant being 21" tall and it looks like around 26" at its widest part of the base.

Okay, my mind went a bit askew when I seen this and went down a deep internet rampage and now I think I understand what scale modelling actually means, but we'll see

So I found a lovely old picture and based my findings off that


So it was very hard to find an exact size anywhere for an ork mega gargant but luckily it's easy enough to find scale diagrams for imperial titans because some people like to do those things


So from this we can see the imperator titan is 60m high but from the above image the mega gargant comes up to the head of the titan, around 35-40 metres. Since 40k is in 28mm scale we're at a real life ratio of 1:58. Lets say it's 40 metres, to allow for maximum awesomeness, we divide the 4000cm by 58 which leaves us with 68.9655172414.... lets say 69. 69cm in inches is 27 inches! Wow, who said maths can't be fun!

I'd say you're pretty dead on with the 18W + 24H, they're nearly as wide as they are tall.

somehow i would have went with grots for that idea... full grown orcs...hmmm... but your take on such a theme is always a revelation in itself...so sitting here and waiting and watching with wide open eyes^^

Small update for you, started a little bit today....


Got a few things on at mo so progress might be a bit slow, might take me a month!

It's great seeing your mega gargant starting Cam, I didn't think you'd have any time for it with how much your been cranking out for the LoER contest. I love how diminutive that little guardsman looks standing on that track assembly.

I somehow missed that you were making a Mega Gargant.

You do realize, at some point you're going to have to physically visit (or be visited by) Blackadder, just so you can compare your Gargant to his two Titans.

Of course, his Imperator is shaping up to be a meter tall, so...

We won't know until you get a shot of the engine on the chassis.

Now that is fething cool. That what ever it goes in is gonna be a lot of engine and is gonna scream in the battle field.
