I bought 2 AOBR boxes and have used a majority of the stuff from it but I had a hard time coming up with ideas for what to do with the vanilla dreads, so I went about converting the first one into a Deffdread and was pretty pleased with the results. Well I am now going after the second one to do the same thing. Thoughts, comments, and questions are always appreciated but keep in mind this is a WIP and nothing is complete yet.

I really like that face! The wrecking ball is a cool idea I'm just not sure it works in that position. Well done though.

I'm also doing this, and will post pics. I'm putting the wrecking ball on the top though.

As with all my Dreads/Kans - Belly guns . . . .

Updates I am about 75% complete with the left arm and 85% complete with the body, but I am still trying to decide how i want to fix the back as it still looks too space marine like.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
My last submission for the night I finished the right arm and added a hatch to the top of the dread, I also tried my best to make the rear look less SMish but it still needs work, hope you all enjoy.

ok nice job so far but the thing that ruins it is all the space marine iconography it will look much better if you cut/file/shave it off.

Love it. I've seen a couple of conversions from dread to deff dread, but this is the coolest. the wrecking ball arm is amazing.

Something to think about. deffdreads can have four arms, correct? I'd love to see some real killy pinchers sprouting off the back and arching over the top... or guns. dakka works too!

I would say he is now about 98% complete I need to bore out the gun barrels and finish cleaning him up. I added a big shoota and some additional ork Iconography and I removes the giant purityseal/SM banner from the Dreads leg. I am keeping the SM skulls because orks like 'umie skulls. Still struggling on how I want to base him. Thanks for all the great comments.

Vipera: Thank you the idea for this has been eating at me for weeks so I had to force my self to just sit down and do it. Yes it can have 4 arms and I am running out of room for the 4th so I may just have the wrecking ball flange work as 2 DCCW.

KingCracker: Hurray thats what I was going for, when people did not see it first I was a little worried.

Big Mek: Ya working on that the AOBR dread plastic is really soft so removing stuff like that can cause potential damage so I have to be kind of careful not to mess the model up too bad.

Why keep the Storm bolter on the dread arm?

Put the big shoota there - make him an Ork Grey Knight

Really fun ideas there. The face is an excellent idea.

I would suggest putting the legs at a different angle, to give the impression that the dread' is twisting at the waist. It would indicate that the wrecking ball was being held out by the momentum of the swing.

But yeah, very cool.

Looks cool!

But might i suggest making the spent ammunition cartridge cases come out from the underside of the weapon and making an ammo feeding belt from were it comes out now , conect it to the underside of the rangefinder or whatever that part is and put on som orci plate (Plasticard) to cover it upp?

Then you could model a big heap of spent ammo on its base to as bonus

I agree with Uriels_Flame to remove the stormbolter to

Why not rotate his torso to the left so it looks like he is swinging the wrecking ball around? It looks a bit static at the moment...

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

In response to the torso rotation ideas: I would love to but if you have seen the AOBR dreads that is much harder to do than one might think, I have to acually cut the model in half to do that. There is alot of stuff in the way,and my hobby saw is too big to get in there without mutilating the model, also I do not own a dremel so thats out of the question.

I plan on removing the bolter just not there yet.

As to the belt feed idea on the big shoota, No: the ammo comes from inside the dread and the bullets are coming out of the ejection port that is actually built into the gun.

Any other thoughts comments or suggestions(especially for basing ideas)?
