Given that the 'Kroot' army list is getting less and less known/accepted/official, i was wondering what army to use to represent them?
I came up with...
Jungle Fighter Guard
Nids
Orcs
Dark Eldar
Tau, just use lots of kroot.

I'd like to keep in Jump infantry in some form, and Krootox.. i was also maybe going to convert some other kind of Krooty vehicle or combat monster :/ Any ideas?

And, lol at the thought of someone showing up with Dark Eldar Kroot - kroot are probably played more around here than DE are

Why would they be any less official? Isn't their "Codex" still on GW's website? The only problem is that its alittle old.

Orks might work ok for you due to similar armour saves. But at the same time they can't shoot well and the Kroot can...

Just stick with the current Kroot list.

Yeah i use the Kroot list, well a custom made one from the Kompletely kroot website but it still uses the rules that have been issued by GW so I'd say stick with it !

I would stick with the Kroot codex, but if you gave them all the ork upgrade (can't remmeber what it is called) then it would be easier to use them as Orks. also depending on the guns you gave them would help you decide what army they should be-eg you won't see shuriken catapiults in a guard army would you. If you really want to use them as a counts as force i would say Jungle Fighter Guad would fit easier than any of the others

I want to introduce some beastmen/abhuman type troops into my IG as hand to hand specilests. they would have to be mercenaries because such abhumans are not exceptable in the IG.
now i think about it i may just use kroots. can anyone fill me in on their rules and any presedent of kroot mercs in an IG army. orgyns are always expencive and not realy usable in smaler seniros are kroots cheeper?

I'd use the GW Chapter Approved Kroot Mercenaries.

Failing that, I'd use the GW Nid Codex.

Failing that, I'd use the fandex.

I think orks would be best for a counts-as army or kroot . I'd love to see pics of the army, whichever rules you use for it!
