If you want a high detail game, where your characters are individuals who got their own personality as they gain experience, then yes

It's best played withing groups of at least 3 players or gangs, so that you're not up against the same person/gang all the time. Within our group we often play with a GM, see the Jeriko Reach blog for ideas. You will need a lot of terrain on your board, preferably with some vertical elements.

It's a great game, and the rules are on free download (the book is a lot easier to use though) so there is no excuse not to have a cheeky peek. The minis can also be easily converted (see various blogs) if you are not a fan of the 'official' minis.

Im In the same position but the rules are free and you can convert IG models into good looking gangs
so im gonna try it
and its always been recommend it so give it a shot what have you got to loose.
