Subject: Warpspider Power Blades: 2 CCW?

I havent been able to locate any FAQ regarding it.. do warpspider exarch powerblades count as two close combat weapons/two of the same special melee weapon, thereby granting and additional +1 attack in the assault phase?
Additionally, under what circumstances do you WANT to send your spiders into an assault?

Powerblades are two weapons, but the reference to +1 attack is for having 2 CCW, not a special rule. So you don't get a bonus attack again. Or you can read it as they are a single weapon with a Special ability to give +1 Attack. No matter what way it is you wont ever get more than +1 attack I don't play Space Faeries, so I don't know about sending them into assault.

Gwar! is correct about the number of attacks if IIRC.
As for assaulting them, I'd only do it if even by running away the enemy would still be able to charge you, and even then just to take away any bonus they might get like Orks or KB(Khorne Berserkers dont have an Acronym or do I just not know what it is?) , then immediately run away on you next turn if you survive.

A warp spider unit can be great for tying up units like tactical squads if you give the exarch power blades. Even at strength 3, 4 WS5 I6 power weapon attacks on the charge is nothing to scoff at, especially if the target is doomed.

Spiders have good stats and good armor compared to any basic troops that aren't marines. Aspect warriors are likely to strike first against most enemies so they get maximal use out of the bonus attack for charging. Maul an enemy enough, then wipe them out in CC so they can't shoot back.

This works really well if you run an Autarch with PW and Mandiblasters (with Warppack) as you get 10 of the above attacks (plus the other spidersX2 attacks)
