Which would you want for a Tau Super Heavy?
I prefer the Skimmer Tank. I think it should have 2-3 turrets, multiple options, including a destroyer hit weapon of some sort.
It would have the transport capacity of 24 (for Double Fish Fury).
I'd say AV14 front AV13 sides and AV 11 rear, with 3 structure points.
What do you think?

I recommend checking out the Epic armylist on the Specialist Games website to give you some idea of what Tau super heavy vehicles are like.

I went there. There's no Tau unless I missed it. Do you have a link?
Besides this is about some new ideas instead of just rehashing what's been done before.

Their superheavies are all fliers. I've seen people convert Tau titans out of Gundam models, so thats simple enough. Titan with a big jet pack maybe?

It's just keeping in mind mobility, mobility, mobility. Crisis suits are tactical moble because they can be transported by Orca or Manta. Even devilfish and Hamerheads are Manta-transportable.
A Superheavy skimmer that also fits in the manta lower bay seems the most logical non-flyer superheavy, as it would fit within the Tau tactical paradime.

I think that about covers it. For now. |

I am guessing the Epics figures are not playable in the regular 40K...but it gives great ideas for converting...

Fast skimmer, like a sleeker, faster Valkyrie.
Hell, why not just go with a skimmer that transforms into a mech? It works for Macross.

Oh Macross, how I remember Love. Do you? Army of the Souther Cross (the 2nd generation of robotech) had hovertanks that turned into mechs. Although, I think Genesis Climber Mospeda (the 3rd generation of robotech) had vehicles that would be closer to tau.
