I'm looking to build a fairly solid army with some pre-determined substitutions.
The core of the Army will be (I'll break it down later on in my post)

Warboss with 5nob biker squad. (roughly 600pts)
2 Battlewagons, 1 with a 20boy squad, the other with a 19boy squad and a Big Mek with KFF (roughly 600pts)
The remaining points would be spent in many different ways that would allow me some customization on the fly if I needed it, I've come up with 3 configurations so far.

2 trukks filled with boyz
1 trukk filled with burnas
snikrot + kommandos

I'm attempting to build a horde type army that would allow me to get as many orks in CC as quickly and safely as possible.

Heres the breakdown of what I have so far.

Warboss with bike, pk, attack squig, cybork, bosspole
3 nob bikers with stikkbombs, big choppas, cybork bodies
1 nob biker with stikk bombs, pk, waagh banner, cybork body
1 pain boy with a grot orderly and cybork body

subtotal 495 pts

Big Mek with KFF cybork body
2 battlewagons red paint, grot riggers, stikkbomb chukkas, 2 rokkit launchas each
19 boy squad, nob with pk, bosspole
20 boy squad, nob with pk, bosspole

subtotal 654 pts

total 1149 pts

That would be my core army. Here is the points breakdown for one of my optional configurations
2 trukks red paint, grot riggers, stikkbomb chukkas
2 x 12boy squad, nob with big choppa, bosspole

subtotal 284 pts

Total 1433

The reasoning for this army is to build a strong, yet fast army that lets me get as many boys in cc as quickly as possible. I got my butt handed to me by tau by tryin the footsloggin route, so my reasoning is put the boys in battlewagons, (only rail guns can blow em up) if I get initiative move as quick as possible to get to cc, if I lose, hopefully the bigmek (and grot riggers) will keep my wagons alive long enough to get them closer for cc.

Only having played Tau once, I'm not really sure how to react to their army, it seems if I build footsloggin, their fire warriors chew me up before I can get in range, if I go with vehicles, I reduce their number of targets to a few easy to destroy targets.

Honestly, in my mind, being able to beat Tau really comes down to winning iniatitive. I think if I can win Iniatitive I just might have a chance to do some damage.

Thanks,
Crunch

O.K. firstly you have many waaagh banners these do not have a pile on effect and cost a good amount of points with all these points some deff koptas can be bought also the eavy armour on the nobs isn't worth it as they can't be singled out in combat so if pathfinder rail gunners are at you take deff koptas with big shootas or if it's tanks take rokkits on them
Hope that helps.

Ok great, I was actually going to ask that, it almost reads to me like each individual nob needs one to increase his individual WS by 1, so I only need 1 for the entire unit?

You have a lot of wasted points here, plus a few things that you can't have.
First in your Bosses biker Mob,you can only have 1 waagh banna, also stikkbombz IMO are a waste as your Int is still only 2/3,also you should drop the 'eavy armour from your boss and just take cybork.
For your Big mek, drop the 'eavy armour,do the same for the 2 Nobz leading your boyz mobz & again I wouldn't bother with stikkbomb chukkaz on your battle wagonz.
For the optional forces you have shown, again loose the 'eavy armour from you Nobz & give your Nobz PKs.

Ok, made a few updates to the list. Thank you Fitzz, and Warsmith for your input, it has helped me immensely!

Right now with making the suggested changes, I'm at 1433. What I'm considering right now, is to upgrade my 2 trukk nobz to PKs and then perhaps getting some more rokkits on the wagons. Or drop the stikk bombz all together which would allow me to get 2 TL deffkoptas. The thought of having those rokkits against enemy vehicles is very tempting, and heck if my Tau buddy goes after them first... meh, I'm out 90 pts, and that means something else didn't die.

Well,I'd consider getting the deffkoptaz, they will definatly serve you better than stikkbomb chukkaz against Tau.
in my own experinces playing against Tau I've always used the "too many targets" tactic, basicly just giving the Tau player more to shoot at than he/she can kill, once their lines are breached it's usualy game over.
Also, though I have never used them, you may want to look into kommadoz,as most Tau players are defencive, the thought of a mob of orkz with power wepons dropping in behind them may shake their strategy a bit.
