Hey All,
With the new IG 'Dex out, I've been trying to come up with creative ways of figuring out how to base my heavy weapons teams. All my old teams are blister packs with no bases for the weapon itself. I got two guardsmen on bases themselves, but that's it. I was thinking of just ordering 60mm bases online, but that gets really pricey (especially just for some bloody bases). So, now I'm trying to resort to a more economic plan... making my own! Any ideas on such? I was thinking of just either cutting out some wood or thicker plastics or even trying to find washers that size. I'd like to say as "tournament legal" as possible without destroying my wallet. Suggestions? Ideas?

If you've got the equipment, cutting your own from wood is your friend. Beyond that, i'm thinking get real ones from GW, will save time and effort, and shouldnt lose you much to buy direct... Assuming your prices are similar to ours.

EDIT: They make all their money from the models, so cant see why they'd be that bad.

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

Plastic card is extremely cheap and easy to work with.

Your local hobby store should have mold making materials. You can custom design two or three bases from plasticard, foam board, or wood then cast them. Then all you'll need to do is dry brush your bases when you need them.

I did this for my Nidzilla list and they turned out well. Just watch out for overhang in your base details.

Your molds should hold up for a couple armies worth of bases. It is all cheaper than buying the GW ones unless you only need a few. Good luck.

When I get home I'm going to do SO much coke and ---- hot women. It will be like, 'It's 5pm..., time to do some coke and ---- hot women!'

I did this with some old cadian heavy weapons i got on the cheap, base em up to look nice.. raise the guys on terrain so they look about the same height as on a normal base

I wouldn't worry about it at all. if your minis didn't include large / weapong bases then there's no concern.

Yeah, I don't know that many people that would make a fuss out of it anyway.
