I got myself some second hand and MOMminiaturas dwarves.
In total for 100$ around 100+ dwarves with 3 guns, 6 heroes. and everything on square bases and unpainted. So I have a thing to keep me busy.

Invested in a start collecting sylvaneth box last week and picked up some paints and brushes for the first time in at least 7 years.
Managed to get most built and finally a test model painted during the weekend.
Had some great fun as my partner grabbed a start tzeentch daemons box and built some models and started painting for the first time in her life.
Pretty much manages to paint this in 20-30 minutes and should be able to dish out a decent sized force rather quickly.
Just need to make some spiderwebs for my haunted forest look.

Looks fantastic Benzan! I've been tempted to start a Sylvaneth army myself based on the premise that it'd be a nice challenge to see how quickly I could paint up a force that looks good but doesn't take me decades to paint. You'd never think you had a 7 year hiatus based on your results.

Inevitable_Faith tyvm for your kind words! Got half my unit finished yesterday evening, none got a paintjob as nice as the first one. But time and effort vs results and for the time I think they are allrigth.
Can't wait to start with my big trees though!

It's the opposite: the gold was actually given gloss treatment while the skintones are left with a matte varnish. It makes for a very stark contrast in shiny vs flat finish. That is probably picked up a bit with the camera lighting balance as well.
