Just curious how my fellow TK players answer a Keeper of Secrets. I was thinking maybe tag team some Scorpions. Keepers assault range of 20 is almost as good as our incatations units threat ranges.

scorpions don't stand much of a chance against the KoS. Fully ranked up skeletons with a warbanner are probably your best bet.

In ur gaem, killin ur doodz.

Tomb King in a chariot, in a unit of chariots, unit has the banner of +1 to hit on the first round of combat, and he has a flail of skulls.

Charge, and challenge.

GG keeper.

Also. Batmanuell also has the best way to deal with the Keeper. Mines a little bit more exciting and a little more likely to fail.

You know the Keeper always strikes first right? That's the big threat.

Problem with the skellies is the KOS mobility makes it hard to get them stuck in. I would not risk my TK in combat with a KOS. Impacts with chariouts maybe? Hit him in front and side with two chariots and incantations?

Chariots are only strength 4 so they need 6's to wound. If you're trying to hunt down the KoS, that's just not going to happen with anything could really kill it. Maybe a fully ranked up skeleton heavy cav unit, but that's a lot of horses.

add vambraces and the cheap 4+ bounce save and the king survives and probably wins the first round of combat, and have really put the KOS in a tough spot, if he even survived at all. 3 unsaved wounds = dead KOS with the Flail of Awesome.

A keeper should be hard to even hit. They are usually played in the leadership bomb armies, and take the items that force you to take a leadership test to even attack it. It can be taken down by shooting, crappy save and all. This is unlikely because they usually take siren song, and force you to charge with a unit. Since TKs are ItP, they can't choose to flee. It is a beast, and often is worse to face than a bloodthirster. Since it moves so fast, it can choose where combat is going to happen. To be honest, I'm not really sure how TKs handle it reliably. Killing it with a static resolution block, by keeping it in a chanllenge (and raising the champ every chance you get), is probably the best bet. You won't do any wounds, but eventually he will wiff and not get very high resolution, and have a poor test. It has a high points cost, so if you can keep it occupied with a much cheaper unit, you can hopefully kill off the other parts of the army.

I like to kill it with screaming skull catapults, they usually do a great job!

Especially if you have 2 and manage to get smiting off on both of them...

But otherwise, KOS is not flyer so he can not charge over units, just have cheap speedbump units of either 5 man light horsemen or 10 archers or something so if he wants to charge, he can only charge that junk and be ridirected into a bad position for a flank/rear or ust into a skeleton block to hold him.

Also, as far as heros go, I kind of don't like having my heros having to fight that kind of mosnter, just accepting challenges with unit champions and hoping combat res wins you out is a good way to go unless you know you can get a good round in with the flail.

Jesus Christ changed my life, He can do the same for you!

I'd probably go for the Khalida and many, many poisoned arrows route. Failing that, the tomb king challenger sounds alright

IF you get the charge on it I would go with the TK using the Flail of Skulls, Armor of the Ages and Vambraces of the Sun.

The KOS will loose 1 attack and you will swing with 4 Str 7 attacks. If 2 get past the ward save that's 4 wounds on it.

The Armor will give you 5 wounds to start with so you should be able to withstand the return blows. Don't for get that if you play your cards right and get the Smiting off you have a change of getting a further 1 (2) wounds on it in the magic phase.

The following turn if you survive it's attacks you should be able to take it down with 1 or 2 more blows.

Best bet vs big baddies in a TK list is the catapult (especially as the DoC list hasn't really have a better target for those shots than the GD). The king with flail of skulls and some defensive item(s) plus a support unit for him is a good back-up plan, though.

I am thinking TK's are what I will run for Ardboyz as my Lizardman army doesn't have as much of a chance against the local leadership bomb army.
