I dread to think...

Hey everyone,

I was reading the stratagem section in Planetstrike, and wondered what everyone thought the best stratagem was.
Now i know that half of you are going to say Meteor Strike, because its the most points, but I mean one that you could use in a small game and still have terrifying consequences.

And Cities of Death stratagems are welcome as well.
my one is Scorched skies, which gives you an extra D6 firestorm, makes the enemy have -2 ld for the first turn and all for only 2 points. i got : 14 Firestorms (S9, AP3 Ordnance Barrage) in a 2-objective mission, and it was so much fun...

Post your favorite and any stories you have of it here, please!!

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the Jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building. Copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teleport Barrage: 2 Point Imperium Only:

The attacker nominates one defending unit that occupies a building with an armor value (Bastion, Skyshield Landing Platform, Indomitable Fortress). Every model that is part of that unit must take an armor save. Any model that passes its armor save is horrifically fused ith their armor and the walls of the stronghold itself. Those models are removed from the game.

I took out a tooled up Chaos Lord and a full unit of maxed out Chaos Termies with that one. Not one survived and took out over a quarter of the guys points value in one fel swoop.

Your side is always the "will of the people" the other side is always fundamentalist, extremist, hatemongers, racists, anti- semitic nazies with questionable education and more questionable hygiene. American politics 101.

Both of those are nasty, but I think the "escape hatch" is pretty versatile for a 1pt. stratagem as it gives a unit in the building it is assigned to a very large assault threat zone. If used by a tooled up assault unit it can be a nasty surprise...

I really agree, that teleport barrage one is just EVIL (or good, if your using it).I agree that escape hatch has good potential, but if the bastion get blown up and there isn't anyone nearby, it wouldn't be that helpful...other than that though, it is very helpful.

I also think las-maze (now known to me as gauss-maze) is pretty good for a 1 pt stratagem, as it could circle your base giving you ANOTHER defense line to protect yourself - yay!

A little 3-point combo I'm looking to try is the scorched sky and the marine drop pod one where everyone within 6" of an incoming drop pod has to take a leadership test (at -2 because of the scorched sky). Teleport barrage is gonna be nasty though... No terminators/characters in bastions for ju! The fact that it also kills EW characters is even more awesome!

Check out my blog for bat reps and pics of my Ultramarine Honorguard (Counts as GK) Army!

What are the odds that no enemy will be within a 36" diameter around the bastion (you can put it anywhere within 18")?

I'm thinking you put it on a bastion along with void shield and put a decent cc unit inside. bastion can't be effected at all by the firestorm, and will take some dedicated fire to pop turn one. Your turn you throw out the hatch and unload say a warboss with manz or nobz mob and get a first turn charge on pretty much any enemy target of your choice since it almost covers the whole table if you placed the bastion correctly.

I may try it out and see how it goes...

Hey as far as i can tell you can take two stratagems on one building. Say ammo dump and power generator for thirty boyz with shootaz.
ouch and a escape hatch for a quick shoot then assault.

and lazer burn looks fun, i'll be trying that soon.

Drop Pylons (Spelling?)
Nothing like dropping in a wall to stop infantry from walking to the objectives. Also fun to try to capture MC like Carnifexs in. It's good like the Force Pylons, except instead of being a maximum of 6" away it's 12". That's a possible 48" wall that will stop any non vehicles passing, unless they use grenades on it. I can also make a 12" by 12" box to capture stuff in

You can also put that wall around your own stuff to stop CC from ripping apart shooting squads (FW was the first that came to mind), they can enter and leave if they have a transport, if not they're stuck until it is deactivated by a grenade.

Laserburn.

If only for the nostalgia of being named after that old game.
