Colonel "ironhand" Straken
Command squad however you want it. (preferably with assault weapons)
Combined squad (squads 1 and 2)
Commissar (power sword)
Sergeant (power sword)
sergeant (power sword)
18 Guardsmen
Combined squad (squads 3 and 4)
Commissar (power sword)
Sergeant (power sword)
sergeant (power sword)
18 Guardsmen
It's a wacky Idea, but A thought provoking one, with straken you get furious charge, so basically all your little guys become miniature marines with lots of power attacks, set them up in cover and you have yourself some very gnasty surprises. you also have something ready and willing to take advantage of FRFSRF.

OK, so you've spent about 500 or fewer points, left off the Platoon Command Squad(s), and so on. What's the rest of the army? Heck, If that's all you field, I just stand back and shoot you from a distance. Especially if I have something that ignores cover (Colossus, Thunderfire, Whirlwind, etc) and has decent range.
But yes, the Straken/merged squads is one of the common builds these days I believe. I keep intending to try it out but haven't got around to it.

jesus mondo, why the hell even bother posting that? You just like gunning down noobs?
I can't really comment much as I dont have my codex in front of me, but it sounds like a build that has some potential. could be nasty.

This seems very expensive, extremely vulnerable to all templates, and doesn't even really work if you don't get the charge. Though you get points for innovation, I wouldn't really be afraid of such a unit on the battlefield.
