So, in the last codex for CSMs, there was a color scheme for a legion known as the 'Warp Ghosts.' I had just started painting my army to this color scheme, and yet, in the new codex, the marines of the same colors are known as the 'Death Mongers.' Are these two separate legions, did games workshop get rid of the warp ghosts, or was the name just changed?
And if the Warp Ghosts still exist, how does the 'Bleak Brotherhood' fit into this?

Does it really matter anymore? Since Gavin 'they still let me write rules!' Thorpe and Alessio 'I should know better than this' Catavore ripped out the hearts of Chaos Legion players everywhere, Chaos Space Marines have been nonexistent. Now, we just have Space Marines Gone Bad.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

There's always the possibility that "Deathmongers" is a moniker given to the warband properly called the "Warp Ghosts".
Or that "Warp Ghosts" was a nickname given to a warband that called themselves the "Deathmongers". Either way.

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me. |

GW decided that Warp Ghosts was actually a good name, so had to switch it to fit in with the "Beasts of Annihilation", "Blood Disciples", and other such dumb names.

Most of those new chapters were stupid. Just look at the Punishers.

That's the thing. the warp ghosts were SO badass, with their mind flayer skull icon, that they just had to neuter them alongside the fluff.

My personal favs are Warriors of Mayhem, the Disciples of Destruction and the always intimidating Unknown. Oooohhhhhhh..... Or perhaps Knights of Blood, the Lords of Decay, or the Steel Brethren, otherwise known as the Not-World Eaters, the Not-Death Guard and the Not-Iron Warriors (respectively).

The new Alpha Legion scheme is silly too. It's too bright and gaudy for master infiltrators...
Oh wait, Alpha Legion doesn't exist anymore, now it's Sneaky Renegades...
D'oh, they don't have their rules that make them Sneaky anymore! I guess they're just Blue and Green Space Marines Gone Bad.

I hear they're undergoing a period of sexual confusion and are hanging with the Emperor's Children, hence the colour change.

So the consensus is that the Warp Ghosts probably still exist, and the alpha legion and iron warriors are pussies?
