Dark Angels Green
Snot Green
Scorpion Green Highlights.
I paint the shoulder pad trim Red, to represent Salamanders 3rd Company.
I throw in a few washes, but thats the gist of it.

Thanks to an introduction to Citadel Washes I'm trying something new.
1. Prime Black
2. Snot green
3. 1/2 Snot green + 1/2 Goblin Green
4. Goblin Green highlights
5. Wash liberally with Thraka Green Citadel Wash.
I used to make sure that I left black, or base green coat, showing in joints, armor gaps, etc..., but with the washes they naturally create shading.
I'm also leaving the backpacks and bolters black with chainmail highlights. On the black areas I mix maybe a 1:10 ratio of grey:black, let dry then wash both the black areas and metal areas with Badab black. Creates nice shading and the black has a nice sheen to it with the Badab black on it.
Same for vehicles, except that I am using a near Gnarloc green spraypaint on it after the black basecoat.

If you haven't assembled the marines.
1. Assemble the marine body (legs, torso, arms, head)
2. Prime the main body green
3. Ink the main body with green ink/or black if you like.
4. Lightly dry brush (bright green or yellow) on the edges of the armor.
5. Paint the chest =eagle/skull or whatever (bolt gun metal or gold)
5. Take the shoulder pads back pack and gun.
6. Prime them black.
7. Lightly dry brush the gun bolt gun metal.
8. Lightly dry brush the backpack/ shoulders in a light gray.
9.Assemble the model.
10. Paint the eyes whatever color you want.
11. base the model.
Oh well just my quick and dirty scheme...
We did this on a buddies army here and it came out pretty well, and it only took us a day or so to paint his whole 1500 point army.

If you want a variant of the normal blind your enemies salamanders:
1) Base coat gnarloc green
2) Hit the recesses with a badab black
3) Use a brass as your trim color
They look a little more gritty. Just an opinion

Most of our items are painted by our sculptor, not enough time to sculpt and paint, though his GF does close to the same job, we are toying with the idea of painting, but she lives in Sweden, and thats a 10 business day shipping wait
Thanks for the compliments, I just recieved word that our LR kit is done be sculpted and will be cast soon!
This is a 15+ part kit to accessorize a Salamander Land Raider, should be awesome!
