Hardest-Tau or Necrons

Easiest-Plague Marines/Chaos or Orks

Reasoning-Hardest- Tau are so blocky that their shapes are extremely difficult to replicate and Necrons are just so darn thin and perfectly curved!

Reasoning-Easiest-Plague marines-Just finished Gs'ing up my first ones and with jsut a few simple strokes of a hobby knife you can get great results! Orks and scratchbuilding go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned because they don't need to look "clean".

Hardest-Tau: The reasons you mentioned.
Easiest-Tyranids: A lot of customizable soldiers plus endless combos for conversions with your hobby knife

Hardest-necrons tau eldar dark eldar. I say eldar and dark eldar because there isnt much meat on dem bones. Tau and necron for reasons listed above. Easiest-all the rest

Hardest Eldar. Easiest Orks.

Hardest: Eldar, or dark eldar, not enough meat to customise.
Middle: Tau, they do have quite a few different opportunities for weapons and armour.
Easy: Chaos, Marines, or imperial guard you should see my entire renegade army for IG.

What, no hardest love for Sisters? All metal, most models in very compact poses with arms close to the body and legs molded directly against robes... You can't even do a weapon swap simply!

I'd go with Eldar or Tau since they are pretty much GW IP and there's not that much to work wtih.

Easiest is IG, plenty of human models, weapons and heads around.

Easiest: Orks because they are messy, sloppy thugs.
Hardest: Orks because it's actually hard to make something look orky without it looking like sh*te too.

Easiest: Orks and IG, the kitbash opportunities are endless with those two.

Hardest: Eldar and Tau, for reasons mentioned above.

When I asked, on another forum, if anyone had recommendations on how to convert a sister's bolter to a melta (new to 40k, chose sisters.. meltas expensive etc)... I was given a list of precautions to avoid being struck by flying pieces of searing hot pewter. That's before starting an attempted conversion. How can anything else come close?
