What option would you like to see?

Personally, I'd like to see Squat Bikers as an option in the IG list, along with a Squat HQ choice and possibly with Squat Heavy Weapon teams and a Squat Gyrocoptor. Enough to make a pure-squat list, but not one that is competetive with no humies in the list at all, to represent the fact Squats have had their homeworlds wiped out by Behemoth.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I was sad to see squats go, as i thought they were quite cool. I wouldn't want to collect a 40k army of them though. I have a lot of epic squats from the days when they came in a box set along with orks.

I think they'd fit in an inquisitor force though (maybe Xenos hunters as they hate orks). In the old battle for armageddon strategy game, they landed on armageddon as part of an inquisitor's force (Inquistor Horst?) and fought on armageddon prime, while the SMs fought on armageddon secundus.

I was happy to see the back of them to be honest. I never want to see them ever again.

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)

Cheese Elemental-Love does not bloom in 40k. Love burns. It gets turned inside out, set on fire, raped, shot with bolters, and beaten with a crowbar.

Personally I don't like them at all but I voted 'Squats selectable as options in IG Codex' since I have a friend who really wants them back.

I wouldn't mind a space dwarf race of some sort. Calling them 'Squats' was so '80s...

They're too close to human (human looking at least) to make a plausible ally for Tau. We already have Gue'vesa. I'm sure some of them are already bearded midgets.

I wouldnt mind them showing up as a selection in the IG codex. Make them pilots to a vehicle similar to a Deffcopter and there ya go.

Or you could just convert them to mini rough riders or something.

I am so tired of hearing about Squats. Ive beem playng since 91 and they were dying off then. I sware people just blab about them to try impress the new players. The squats were and looked pathetic. GW is having a hard enough time supporting its current line. Like the Dark Eldar even need to exist.

If someone has a collection of Squat models, can't they just field them as a counts-as IG or Space Marines army depending on their collection?

...says the "I've been playing since '91 man"

I've been playing since '88, and though I never had a Squat W40K force, I had a very sizeable Squat Epic force. It is the fact they are missing from the fluff that bothers me more than whether they are playable in W40K, to be honest. I doubt I would even have a Squat W40K army if I could, though now I have 10 bikers to use for counts-as marine/scout bikers.

I also think it could be very very interesting to return them to the fluff as part of a Xenos Hunters book and have them now hate 'nids instead of Orcs for what Behemoth did to their homeworlds. It need not be bikers, but a unit designed to be very effective against 'nids. (Though not special rules that only affect 'nids - it would have to be abilities that are effective against everyone but which are especially useful against 'nids. I hate the idea of paying for an ability that has no use in most battles.)

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Back in the day there was a guy at my FLGS who had a pretty sizable Squat army, it was always fun to check out because there were so few pics/info/anything relating to them. When 3rd edition came out that guy was Pissssssed.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

I think they're dead Jim. Seriously though has Dwarfs in Space ever been an even plausible race? Think about it how stubborn they are in any piece of popular fiction. You think that they would seriously every be able to accept the changes of time and advance out into the galaxy?

Now the Demiurge (sp) is a different can of worms. I would be interested in a Demiurg list, but it should in no way, shape, or form match any Squat fiction or material. It just doesn't work.

As Squats are demi-humans, they should be in the IG alongside Ratlings & Ogryns as a single Elite entry.

I just want GW to support what they already have first. DE have been waiting how long for an update? The FAQ section is so neglected and outdated it's pathetic They already have enough woes with their release cycle to be compounding the problems with another race.

I have a sizable force of Squats, I'd like to see them as an elite force for IG, or as an alley to imperial forces. And yes I am an old school player, from the RT days. I would also like to see Imperial Beastmen brought back, just for the variety of models, and fluff.

During the whole time I've played 40K I have seen ONE Sqaut army, and at that time GW had already "sqauted" them.
However,I voted to restore them to the fluff & give them a new codex, not due to any love for Sqauts, but basicly because I think it's foul of GW to release armies, make money off them and then dicontinue them, leaving those who put so much time into those armies with a pile of unplayable minis, and no,"counts as" dosen't count.
