So I'm browsing through the PDF files that GW has for varying formations for Apoc, and I just noticed the new Imperial Guard Storm Trooper Strike Force.

Interested, I took a look at their abilities.
Now, is it just me, or is their Storm the Objective ability broken? It allows them to shoot, run, then shoot again in the same turn and allows their second set of shooting to be at a different target. AND any cover saves get -1 due to the targets being surprised.
Take note that this is in ANY turn in which the storm troopers disembark from their Valk transports.
To me, this means that they can get back in the Valks, and do it again later.
Thus, with their new AP3 guns, they could essentially hop out, rapid fire into a squad of MEQs and kill most of them (if not all), run, then shoot another squad of MEQs killing them as well. Multiply this by 3+ squads and it feels more than a tad bit broken to me.


So my question, is what do you think of this formation and others? Which other ones are broken and why? And how often has someone taken those in the area you play in?

So many things in Apoc. are broken that it does not matter.

yeah they ping off a few marines, but AV 12 skimmers and T3 fleshies die to a stiff breeze in the standard apoc enviroment.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!
