Hey there all. I have been part of a gaming group that specialises in games from 500 to 40K+ points.

Numerous dudes have many Titans of all sizes, Thunderhawks, Asps, Capitol Imperialis blah blah.

We all have(for years!!) been wanting an "Imperator" or "Emporer class Battle Titan.

So we are finally going to make them! I will be posting pics per weekend on the major construction type phases, but will be updating during the week with the Detail that I can do at home(away from the W'shop).

So lets see how I upload images......

Basically had been brainstorming for months. We decided that the model had to be accurate to all of the Pics you see lurking on the net, otherwise the point would be lost....just a Big< angry Model on the Field. pffft.

So this is the Beastie we all know nad love. Apparently it sold on E-bay, but just game store rumours, so 'dunno.

We started getting all the bits together, and based our building style on this fellow.

Are you making it that big? I was under the impression that they work out at about 5 foot tall in apoc and so are un-usable really. The warlords that I have seen have been about 3 foot tall, which seems bigger than the one in that pic.

In a world gone mad, who is left to fight for truth, justice and all that gets you smashed for under a fiver....

First played 40k during 2nd edition, missed out 3rd and 4th, and haven't played 40k since 5th edition - but still read and occasionally paint

Good question mate. I have put a few items here for relevance, based on our best guess assumptions

All of the Titans go up in scale a fairly reasonably accurate amount. Also, based the scale on the Datasheet profile with a Warhound. Comes to about 1.3- 1.4 meters tall.

These are my three Titans, from Warhound to Warlord.

I have a Knight Paladin in progress, but he was an old project that just needs reworking.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out! What are those buckets that you are using? Also, I don't know if you noticed, but on Mike Biasi's model that you have shown at the top of the thread, the "bucket" part of the legs are tilted inward a bit, instead of straight up and down like it looks on yours.... is this on purpose or an oversight?

There is no prize that exceeds the worth of my honor.

Titan scale is an argument that will never end. I think its safe to assume no matter what size you build it at-someone will have a problem.

My only concern is that when people make them so big they tend to throw all the little details out the window. Good luck, I cull my inspiration for future projects from logs like these.

Thanks all for your kind words.

As for size, we have had about 20 years since Epic was around, and have decided on this size,

Just going to my album of WIP's from the weekend and will upload more.

@Gavin Quinn- not an oversite, just a workable practicality. getting the angle perfect was just too hard- always looked wonky. Also, the Epic sized Emporer Titans are more similar , like the pewter one you see lurking around,

Ok, so we had to be sure the internal structure of the feet was/is going to support the weight of the main body.

We took into account the way the back really hangs out, and the weight of the Guns will counter-balance it.

Either way, alot of weight.

With scratch building stuff, you can find amazing things in those sort of stores.

Have got into making some doors tonight, and sort of recessed fire points. I would like to have hinged doors in them, but am not too sure. Definately going to put some figs in though, just not sure if

it's going to be permanent or not.

If you superdetail these, like it appears you are planning to, it will be really cool. So far it looks like you have a good start to the project.

One thing though, and it´s a tiny one, but it´s Emperor, not Emporer. This spelling error is getting really common, but it still hurts my brain when I see it.

I really hope you guys manage to keep motivated, and finish these monsters to the same level of detail.

Quick question: What weapons have you decided to give it? I mean, it gets 6 or so in the carapace of the model and then the two arm weapons. and theres so many to choose from.....
