The Eye of Terror

Well, after completing my Eldar army, I am planning to get back into my sisters, and beef them up to 1250 points for an upcoming 2v2 event at my LGS.

What are some good sisters tactics besides "Divine guidance and then shoot them with your bolters PEW PEW"

2v2 plays different. You want advice for 2v2 or normal sisters play? Your list and style is very different depending on if you play one way or the other.

Knowing what your partner is playing is helpful too.

Knowing is half the battle. But it is only half. Execution...application...performance...now that is the other half.

As a personal preference, I like to use Seraphim units.

Sisters are generally crappy at c.c.
You can use penitent engines, or flagellants to fill a c.c. role but it is risky and the inclusion of a priest can be tough.
Seraphim are great interceptors and elite hunters that have versatility due to their speed.

In my MEQ force I like to run them near/behind a rhino with the cannoness near by (but not in the unit or they loose hit and run).

I unload troops from the rhino, rapid fire the nearest enemy unit, and then have my seraphim in a position to assault either the same squad, or a possible counter assault squad behind them.
This forces the enemy to bear down on your seraphim (who you will be using a great amount of faith to keep alive), leaving your sisters free to to hop back in the rhino, beat down the single weakened enemy unit they shot at, or rapid fire another unit.
After the smoke clears, and the sisters are safe, hit and run the seraphim out of combat and repeat the process.

The canoness w/ jump pack & blessed weapon is kept safely behind the seraphim/rhinos to avoid the mass of fire, or I keep her with seraphim until the turn I charge (but this can be risky). She can kill just about anything you want, or at least assist a sisters squad you unfortunately engaged in c.c.

The majority of sisters players also like to play with vanilla exorcist's. they can cause terror on the battle field with D6 str 8 ap 1 shots and are the ONLY long ranged tank killing weapon, you have. they also do a great job weakening monstrous creatures for your cannoness to finish. Though 1000 pt games is questionable, above that you NEED to free up the 260pts to field at least 2 of them.

There are alot more tips, but this is a rough starter.

Also give every squad leader the Book of St. Lucius.
one last thing... not every squad needs an imagifer. Save those points for the units that you plan to use the faith for power plays or require faith specific roles (dominions). each unit (minus the cannoness) only grants one faith point (excusing martyrdom).

I personally like to use a Canoness with Celestian retinue with heavy flamer and flamer, and brazier of holy fire in either the canoness' or the VSS' hands, or even both.
Run up to the enemy, toast them, finish them in assault.
Celestians still only have one weapon but the VSS and Canoness will each have 2 and they being a retinue, your Canoness won't be singled out. S3 still sucks but at least they always hit on 3+, except monsters and IC's.

Seraphims are definitely useful, as mentionned above, and/or for tank hunting. Add Celestine and you have a killer flying squad.

The tricky part is whether to go full Sisters and stack the Faith or grab an inquisitor and an assassin (and possibly a land raider, depending on the size of the game).

I'm kinda curious to hear if anoyone uses Karamazov and his Throne, and if they're worth it?

I run mech Sisters. They pretty much do just what you said, ride up, get out, Divine Guideance, pew pew, plus Flamers.

As has been said, they're pretty weak in CC. Not terrible, but def nothing special. As a result, you want to try to pick off isolated units and burn them down with a couple squads. I.e. destroy them in detail.

Exorcists are a must. You'd be fine with 3x, but might feel cheesy, or not want to deal with that many kits. In that case, a squad of Retributors with HBolters is nice.

A squad of Melta-Dominions in an Immolator is a good trick, but it tends to be very hit or miss. Still, worth having, since when they hit, they tend to get something very important (Land Raider, for example).

All squads want a Vet Superior for the Faith.

I gave my Vet Superiors trinkets like Power Weapons, Eviscerators, Plasma Pistols, etc. Probably not the best use of points, but if you're gonna drop something, I'd drop the Power Weapon first. A Plasma Pistol's firepower is welcome, when the whole gimmick of the list is to dump a ton of shooting in a short time.

Run up to the enemy, toast them, finish them in assault.

I think you'll find that you'd rather Rapid-Fire your Bolters than Assault.

The average Sister has a Bolter. She can shoot twice, or she can charge and attack twice. A Bolter is 2x BS4 shots at S4. Charging is 2x WS3 attacks at S3. Even with Celestians, who hit on a 3+, you're still only S3. The Bolter is AP5. Many units you might charge will have better than I3, meaning you'll lose attacks before they happen.

Shoot your guns. If one squad of Sisters can't shoot the the target down, bring two. Or support them with your ranged shooting (which will be rare).

And while sisters aren't "great" in CC, they do have a remarkable resiliency in sticking around. Power armor and the Book of St. Louie can have you sticking around when even marines would be breaking out.

Get a lot of immolators and fill them with melta guns. Drive around and flame and melta stuff to death. You win.
