FoW still has a huge amount of WW2 to cover, but there are some things I REALLY want so I thought I'd post them here and see what other people want too. If there are things you are waiting for then post them in this thread.

1. M26 Pershing - I know the tank sucks and they were barely used, but I love the look of it and as soon as one comes out I will be starting a US force.
2. Market Garden books - as mentioned in other threads, one book covers the army I am painting up right now.
3. Early War forces - especially poland. Love the early German colour schemes as well.
4. Japan and east asia - especially British colonial defenders
5. Naval battles - I know there are other WW2 naval games out there already but I'd love to see a battlefront designed game based around WW2 fleets and shipping.

Check out our new, fully plastic tabletop wargame - Maelstrom's Edge, made by Dakka!

I'm looking forward to more LW stuff. I particularly would like to see a Volksgrenadier list (maybe even with some miniatures to go a long with them) for later Late War (Battle of the Bulge, Berlin, etc.). Hopefully it'll include things like a larger amount of SMG and assault rifle-armed troops, and maybe even bicycle-mounted platoons.

In terms of Early War, I'm interested in seeing a line of Greek minis for the Balkans Campaign, and I'd also like to see the French as well. As for the Germans, I'd be interested in fielding a Panzerkompanie from Rommel's 7. "Ghost" Panzer Division, hopefully with lots of Panzer 38(t)s.

MW Afrika campaign books are also right down my alley, as my first FOW army is an Afrika Korps army. It'd be cool to see something involving Indian units, as I've got an Indian infantry company that needs painted up.

The M26 didn't reach service until February '45. The next two books will cover Operation Market Garden which occured in September '44. You most likely won't see Battlefront M26's for at least a year, if not two. Of course, you can always order them from another manufacturer. Personally I'm waiting for the A34 Comet (December '44).

Patience grasshopper. Market Garden should be out in September. I'm looking forward to having rules for my Grenadier Guards, 2nd Battalion.

legoburner wrote:3. Early War forces - especially poland. Love the early German colour schemes as well.

Even further off than the M26.

legoburner wrote:4. Japan and east asia - especially British colonial defenders

Probably not until after early war.

With the number of WWII naval games already out there I really doubt we'll see Battlefront wander into that arena anytime soon.

I'd like to see the Indian lists expended as well as a 'late war leviathans' book so I can field my Maus. I'm also interested in seeing what the motorised panzergrenadiers revision does to my Panzergrenadiers (beyond removing their trucks).

I'm also keen on fielding massed 38(t) tanks in early war or maybe French armour.

What Panzergrenadier revision are you talking about? From the new North Africa book? Why are they removing their trucks?

Actually, it shouldn't be that far off, according to this thread.

It's exciting news!

Hmm. I was just looking at that and skipped over the early war news entirely. A single book a year isn't exactly setting any records for getting the material released however.

That's true, but it's better than nothing. If the first release is a compilation type book like Fortress Europe, then we'll be in pretty good shape starting out.

Don't blame me blame the German high command.

The first early war book contains Poland and France. Mid war only has two books.

These are the two biggies for me.

It would be cool to have an Island Hopping book that included Naval bombardments and The USMC.

early war French. I know it is coming but I would love to see an army that had soooo much potential that failed due to the powers that be and outmoded thoughts.

Battle of Britian. FoW airbattles. Something a bit more Early to Mid war. As it is, aircraft feels so much like an afterthought in the game

If they can be brought in any kind of number (three or more) in early war those French heavy tanks are going to be the bane of Axis forces in early war and they'll be on the receiving end of it again in '41.

My thoughts exactly. I think it is going to be very hard to put "conditions" on the French that would replicate history. So much of what happened in the early war was a function of the inner workings of Paris and London and not what happened on the front line.

I would also like to see Vichy forces, particularly when the US landed in north africa.

In the unofficial early war lists the Char 1B bis is armour 6/5/2 (early war Panzer IV is 3/2/1 IIRC). The Pak 36 (no stielgranate or Pak 38's until 1941) is AT 6.

Early war for me with an emphasis on Barbarossa.

Given that Barbarossa. takes place in the later half of the last year of 'early war' (June-Dec '41) you may be waiting a while. You could probably do a very early '42 list in mid war list that would swap over when the time comes.

I'm not expecting anything quickly. But Barbarossa's what I want most out of Battlefront! Still, lots of other interesting stuff for early war. The guys who only play American stuff will have a harder time of it!
