As the title states; how many men crew the Leman Russ Battle Tank and what are there specific roles [i know somtimes crewmen perform double duty]

I know there are thousands of regiments, but do the tanks were distinct uniforms when compared to the regiments they are associated with [ie do Cadian tankers have different uniforms than cadian footsloggers?]

Codex says four, with more if there are sponson guns. You'd have the cannon gunner, tank commander, driver, and foward gunner presumably.

No dedicated radio operator? Is that the front gunner's other job? I assume the Battlecannon (or whatever weapon is in the turret) is autoloaded.

The novel "Gunheads" is basically all about Leman Russes and their crews. Good read for everyone who likes treads. I don't have to book right here, but I think the main gun is manually loaded (not that it matters right here).

...apart from the possibility of the driver firing the forward LC/HB and the fourth crewman loading the main gun. As I said, not sure.

I was figuring five:

Commander
Driver
Gunner
Loader
Other/double duty crewman [Radio, Hull Cannon, Sponsons?]

I suppose the Battle Cannon could be autoloaded, making the Loader actually not a loader and instead being in charge of secondary weapons.

I'd be interested to see what that book you mention above says.

I wanted to make a bit of a 40K diorama with crew.

According to Imperial Armour a Leman Russ has four crew with an extra two if it has sponsons: Commander, Gunner, Driver, Loader, Two Sponson Gunners.

Leman Russ has four crew: Commander, gunner, loader and driver. The loader also mans the bow-mounted weapon.

Driver: Well he drives the fraggin thing, lolz. Also mans the hull mounted weapon if the loader is busy.

Gunner: second in commander controlls main gun and smokelaunchers.

Loader: Loads the main cannon, mans the hull mounted weapon if needed.

Commander: Observation, radio and mans any pintle mounted weapon.
