the title says it all, any hints/tips for making any of the commonly found terrain pieces in gothic would be greatly appreciated. In addition Does anyone know where I can buy any gothic terrain and (more inportantly) a starry battlemat so that I dont have to resort to a boring black sheet. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Polystyrene balls from florists make great planets, they can also be melted with plastic glue (in an open space) to form asteroids.

Monday Knight has a Space Mat that looks pretty nice. The Warstore carries them too.

Sand as asteroids works as well.
You can always get a black sheet and then fleck white paint at it to make stars. Get an airbrush to make gas clouds, etc...
Speaking of Planets. DO people prefer their planets to be cut in half or a ball on a stand?

I prefer ball on a stand except for ringed planets.

A club I used to play at (I moved 200km away from it) used plain black fabric decorated with spraycans and the old toothbrush-paint-flick (and also plain brush flick) method for its starscapes.
Planets were polystyrene foam balls on sticks. Asteroid fields were gravel/rail ballast scattered over an area.
