The only thing I would drop is Preds and get some Oblits in there much better over all.

For the points, I get what? 3 Oblits? That hardly seems as useful, I think.

If I drop the Preds and get 40pts, I get only four Oblits. Two squads of two is handy, but I am not sold 100% on that option.

I'd squeeze in 6 Obliterators by dropping Predators and Termies.
Three Termies with combi-meltas are one hit wonders.

I'd say drop one termie squad and that would let you get more oblits. Not only would you get more Lascannon shots but they can fill in the role of both the Termies and Preds while also being much more effective.

There is also the fact that you have a heck of alot of melta shots already and if you decide to deep strike the oblits you get twin linked Melta or if its a bit further away a Multi-melta shot. They also are better for crowd control, plas for termies or twin linked flamers for anything.

This list needs no Obliterators. They are going to do terrible in this list compared to the Predators. He has the Preds for popping transports (and they will do this really well) and the Terminators for killing anything bigger. Obliterators will kill less transports for the points, and if he uses them for Multi-meltas (Deepstriking), not only will he not only have nothing on the board to deal with transports for the crucial first couple turns of the game, they aren't nearly as durable a unit as the Preds. Jeez, Oblits are not the answer to everything.

All in all, the list is solid, but I fear for the Daemon Princes life. You'll need to be careful with him.

No oblits aren't the solution to everything, we were just making a case for them. It's all about your style of play. I'm just saying that 3 Termicide units are a bit over the top, and i played it over a year ago.

I agree with you DarkHound, the Preds can pop transports and the termies can to everything thats bigger. My case was that Obilts combine both these abilities in one. This is all really a matter of play style, and justly so I'll take a Pred in my next game instead of oblits just to get my opinion more well rounded.

I'd try to find a way to give the Demon Prince the MoT, for that 4+ save. Will definetely keep him around longer.

Thanks for the aadvice guys. Perhaps I will proxy this list and see how I like it. Maybe, just maybe, this will be a list I can enjoy. I won't hold my breath, though.

As for the DP, should I toss him for a Sorcerer? Maybe giving him a Mark and some extras or should I just try to free up points for a Mark on the DP?

You don't have anything to counter MCs, aside from that DP. MoT and Warptime will make him very good at that. I'd say keep him. The problem is, the list is so skimmed down, any changes are large ones. The biggest weakness in this list would be a Horde army. Especially IG horde. Not sure how you can fix that with this list though, as there isn't any points to throw around.

At Billie_Joe, you have to remember, Oblits can do ONE thing. They have many options, and can do different things depending on the game, but they do each one of them (except for Multi-Melting) just worse than their counterpart. Once you dedicate them to one roll for the game, it is very hard to change gears because of where they are on the battlefield. Being down in the thick of it after frying a Leman Russ with your Multi-Meltas doesn't lend itself well to then shooting transports with Lascannons, as people are wont to get in the way.

em_en_oh_pee:

I wouldn't recommend dropping the Daemon Prince for a Sorcerer because Sorcerers are more expensive. A Daemon Prince is relatively inexpensive. It might be an idea, though, to turn the three Terminator Squads into two Terminator Squads, add some Chainfists and stick an unmarked Sorcerer with Terminator Armour and Warptime in one squad.

SO! The Prince has been given a boost at the cost of a Pred's sponsons. The TL Lascannon still gives it a solid chance at popping transports, along with the other Pred. That is my long-range anti-tank, while Termicide acts as close-in anti-tank/MC, etc. The troop loadouts are now varied to give me tactical flexibility.

Thoughts?

I think you were better off with the Predators with Autocannons and Lascannons. It gave you good long range anti-light vehicle and anti-tank. Remember, your Terminators might not drop in soon enough to provide anti-tank before the rest of your army gets pummeled by Leman Russes, Land Raider, Land Speeders, etc.

Given your three squads of Rhino-borne Marines, and the two Predators, it might be something to have an armoured spearhead instead of Terminators. A squad of Chosen with a Rhinos, either to get them into battle, or to hang back and shoot, or to come pick them up when they infiltrate.

Yeah, switch all the Marine squads to Meltas again, and trade the Terminators for that Chosen squad. You get an extra Rhino with some actual weapons, meaning the enemy has to choose between directing fire at the ones actually carring units, and the template spewing metal box. Chosen with a Rhino get a huge variaty of deployment options, which is a huge advantage. With this, you should certainly keep the Daemon Prince and have him push a flank with the Infiltrating Chosen. It sets up for a powerful refused flank.
