Ive had a cancellation so I decided the fill the space next week with a 2000 point Pretty Marine army. I'm looking for any fluff tidbits that exist if any. Did some google searching and that gave me some ideas.

I think I have some High Elf Archer heads to use for bare heads. Also swords to replace chainswords. While I doubt fists are fluffy for such wimpy men, for the sake of keeping the list competitive I am keeping them.

So far I have this in mind.

Khan counts as ("Chad" either on a bike or a lion if I can manage. A little too alpha male but what else could he mount?)

Captain "Blake" Fist and pistol or something.

Command Squad with banner and other goodies

Tac squad with PC and PG Fist
Tac squad with LC and Flamer Fist
Tac squad with LC and Flamer Fist
All three in rhinos

Sternguard, 2 combiplasma 2 PG, PW PP Sarge
Rhino
Sternguard, 2 combiplasma 2 PG, PW PP Sarge
Rhino

Land Raider
Vindicator

They get a lot of plasma because they are so hot to begin with? I dunno. I would just do Vulkan with melta out the wazoo if I had the MMs.

Forgot to mention I found the eldar heart transfers are perfect if you paint an arrow through them.

I can't get past the part where you said 2000 points in a week. Do you have help? If not how do you manage that many models in what I'm assuming is seven work days?

I do this for a living. I do it every week. No its just me right now.

I did a bit of bits scrounging earlier and found some good high elf bits and power fists. I somehow have the fist holding the helmet from the Chapter Master. Its pretty vain looking.

I was going to put these on resin bases but I think I am going to go for sand painted in that super bright green ala early 90s.

I know you paint for a living, I'm just amazed at the fact that you are painting 47 infantry and seven vehicles in a single week. I'm guessing maybe that these are "beta" and you have an airbrush? Otherwise, you're a machine. No, you're a machine either way. I paint at about one quarter that speed but then again I only do stuff at what you call alpha or higher.

I wish I could give you suggestions about your project but the only thing I know about pretty marines is that they are pink and intended as a troll.

No they will all be the Alpha quality. Come on if Im going to do something infamous I have to do it my best!

You are right in that I use an airbrush to basecoat infantry. Saves a lot of drying time, since it takes a few minutes rather than an hour, since its the thickest coat you put on. Sometimes I then do a wash then another lighter basecoat that doesnt get into the cracks so I have a really solid foundation to work with.

To be honest Im not sure how I am going to do these. The color will have to be custom mixed in a huge batch, but I dunno if I can rig up a wash in the right color. We will have to see.

And I dont think its off topic we are still talking about the army at hand

Got it all put together today. Did some nice conversions, highlights being a guy underhanding a grenade while extending a limp wrist. Lion Khan worked, looks pretty good. Captain is on a large resin scenic base and reminds me of the Slaanesh mortal guy in Fantasy. The one whose armor reflects himself....can't remember. The GW Narcissus.

Used plenty of those High Elf archer heads everyone hates. They are quite fitting here. Counted decals and have just enough of the hearts. Used a different sand that has grains all the same size for the painted grass ala astroturf.

Counted dozer blades and I have enough for every Rhino. Gotta make this as over the top as possible!

Lunahound and Typleline, yes it will be for sale and it will very much look like those pics. Just wait and see, this army is wierd enough and paint hasnt touched it yet.

I did the Mic conversion on the captain and its hooked to a big speaker on his backpack. I also changed the spear of the lion rider to be a giant banner. There had to be a banner!
