I just read this quote from games day chicago and it seems if accurate rather elusive:
Sgt Diablo wrote:
3. Are you guys making a Warhound Titan in plastic in the near future?
JJ - " LOL, LOL, LOL, ........ pause, LOL,LOL, lets just say people will be very happy with our larger models in the near future.
If interpreted one could say that he implies that there will be a warhound in the near future, but one could also say that this could be just one of the other rumored plastics floating around or even different kits for the stompa or baneblade.
I would like to know what the dakka community believes this quote means?

Got to admit it would be fantastic if it was a Warhound but we'll probably be waiting for a good few years if not more! Following more recent release's though they could make a killing with upgrade parts for it.

A very good point with the Trygon, rumors abound about a new nid update next year some time.

what i would enjoy is a marine super heavy tank, none of this thunderhawk nonsense, landraider is awesome, but if a new tank, a big nasty mofo came out, make me super happy
that said, they might be bringing out a few new sets, like super heavies for a couple of races or something similar, who knows

necrons have a confirmed new codex sooner or later dont they?
why not a new c'tan or some random ship that they have been using to do the whole "one side of the galaxy in the time it takes you to gak yourself" thing?
maybe some nid stuff.
hell, while im talking of stuff not likely to happen in the next 50 years, why not something for the dark eldar?

I can see the true C'Tan being done as Gargantuan Creatures.
|
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

a C'Tan would be awesome but in plastic it would be rather difficult to produce if the size of for instance the fw great uncle clean one with the different curves and the large internal bodies, but then again look at the stompa.
I know there have been sightings of the trygon but it seems like an odd choice seeing as is larger than most typical monstrous creatures and is not in either of the apocalypse books, it could be in the next nid codex but i would doubt it.
thanks Kilkrazy and Steelmage I am horrendously awful at spelng

I'm wishing for SM super-heavy, THUNDERHAWK, or C'tan as gargantuan creatures, models by FW.
Its probably Trygon.

I'd guess the following:
Trygon(since it's been all but confirmed, repeatedly, and seems to just be held back for the Tyranid codex)
Then, you'd have to assume that we'll be seeing a super heavy for the rest of the races, and just looking at the Forge World stuff they've got:
I'd guess one of the Eldar fighters(for an aircraft bit for the Craftworld Eldar, or one of the Cobra variants), the Necron Pylon/a superheavy Scarab variant, a Hell Talon or the like for Chaos(in the vein of an exclusive, only available to Chaos superheavy), a Barracuda or even potentially an Orca for the Tau(the Orca is just big...but it seems like it would be fairly easy to do in plastic, but it makes you wonder if they'll include the compacted Crisis Suits), and a Raven fighter or something even new for the Dark Eldar.

Dark Future, released in 1998 by GW, was set in the "near future".
That was 30 years from the date of publication, and then disappeared without a trace.
I think this is the model GW uses every time they say something will be out in the 'near future'

I predict it will be a trygon to go with nids next year. I also predict nids will get a plastic hive tyrant, new plastic warriors who will also come with bitz to make raveners by just swapping the tail part, and lictors by just giving them cthulu tentacle heads. guants will be split into 2 boxes with hormaguants in a separate box, and prices adjusted to be like what they did to imperial guard.
after that we'll get a thunderhawk prolly for next xmas time.

I wonder how long it would take to make the master model mold and produce a model the size of a thunderhawk?

I actually saw a Thunderhawk in person for the first time yesterday at the Bunker we have in Sydney. That thing's fething enormous. Any sort of plastic kit would be expensive.

It'll probably just bounce
I doubt we will see the thunderhawk in plastic tbh, that thing is huge and would easily be £100 ($150+) it's also something like 750 pts. I expect they will give the other races fancy new models soon though
