I haven't got the 40k rulebook yet, and despite having played the game for several years, I've never really had to deal with psychers, so I'm not so sure how their powers work. But, is it possible to mount a squad into a chimera, and fire from the top hatch? The rules for the chimera say "Five models can fire from the Chimera's top hatch" so I suppose it's just a question of me being unsure whether psychic attacks actually count as shooting. Sorry if this has been asked before, or if this is really something I should know, but I'm not going to have access to the rulebook for a while, so I would appreciate all the help I can have now.

Thanks very much.

It's counted as a Psychic Shooting Attack so it's counted as shooting. Furthermore, the Psychic Choir rule says that you can measure LoS from any Psycher in the unit, so even if only five of them can shoot, those can still shoot. And if you have nine psychers but only five can shoot, it still is counted as strength 9 because its strength is determined by the number of psychers in the unit, not the number of psychers that are eligible to fire.

Note that "Weaken resolve" is not counted as shooting.

I concur with the two previous statements.

"Do NOT ask me if you can fire the squad you forgot to shoot once we are in the assault phase, EVER!!!"

Ahhh, something I missed (and apparently has not been done much on dakka or I wouldnt hijack.)

So this means that you can use WR even if you're in a shaken, stunned, or Flat Out moving Chimera.

Less clearly, you can also use it on an enemy already in CC (although with most guard builds you're gonna lose the combat anyway so it's moot.)

Similarly, you could make a case that you can use it if you've popped smoke and that it lets four other Psykers shoot their laspistols as well, although I'm not gonna argue for those because they're obviously not in the spirit of the rules (and if you're depending on laspistols to win the game you're playing it wrong.)

Cool, thanks for that.
