This is the first time I've ever seriously taken a knife to one my my minis, so be gentle :p
I was disheartened when my favorite Ork - Da Biker Boss. Didn't have any GW made models yet, so I set off to make my own. His name is Grakka Da Crakka - Based off my friends Warhammer online Black Ork, but 40ked up a bit
The pics included are basics just after he came out from under the dremel and pin vice. I still have some work to do around the waistline and of course the green stuff has yet to be applied. I show the Axe arm pinned on for reference, but that will be cut down and replaced with a Power Klaw (Probably scratch built - also a first for me). I also have to add some Dakka on the bike, but they are still on the spurues
I also plan on beefing up the extended handle bars a little. I'm not exactly sure how yet, but I'm thinking taking some thinly rolled Green stuff and coiling it around like a brake line, just so I dont have to go through the hassle of trying to completely encase the bars, but while giving the illusion that the're slightly thicker then they really are.
This is the original reference pic for Grakka provided by my friend
Da Choppa. Minimal modifidaction to the actual bike. I basicly just removed the nubs where hte stock handle bars would go and drilled down for the new ones. The actual grips are pieces of the Nobz Power axe from the sprue
Pointy bitz
Stock Arm holding the Chain Axe (To be replaced by Power Claw)
Da boss Dry fitted
The Skull Shoulda blocka is also on the Biker Sprue, and fit really well when the back was fitted. I plan on making a couple extra straps on GS so it doesn't look like its just floating
The "nubs" for the bosspole will be removed. a Hanger on with da Banner is going to sit on top of the guns

I like how they don't have models made for some units/characters it's more fun to build them and you end up getting more or less exactly what you want. Boss is looking good so far. Have you thought about making his bike any larger? Good luck!

I thought about it, but Ive turned it over about 100 times and I haven't thought of a way how to beef the bike up, and still make the model fit.
Originally I was going to custom build the whole bike to look like they do on the Chopper shows on Discovery channel, but the challenges for someone like me turned out to be insurmountable.
Fortunately the new Ork Bikes look awesome anyways

Very Nice. I like it, although is there any way you can change back of the bike? Perhaps you could customize the exhaust so he doesn't look so cramped.

I rolled the model over about 50 times and couldn't figure out how I would change the front of the bike to get the bars out of Grakkas face. I never thought about opening the back up instead.
I haven't made alot of progress on the model in the last few days. I'm waiting for a shipment of supplies to come in so I can keep working. My area is ...artisticly barren... so if I want anything then mail order is the call of the day lol.
Either way if you compare with the previous pics, you'll see that I removed the stock exhaust, and shortened the pipe to the body of the bike. I took a small part of the horn from one of my Chaos Marine bitz (conveniently pre-bent at 90 degrees) and fixed it in place at the top to make it look like the exhaust pipe was folded into the body. Then I took the stock exhaust, fitted the back and pinned it to the very back end of the bike.
Now Grakka will have some more room for however I decide to fit his claw on, and it doesn't interfere with the fitting of the guns.
Sorry for the lower quality images here. my camera batteries were running a bit low so I snapped it right at my computer desk/ workstation lol

i think if you beefed up the legs on the boss, and widened the bike somehow, it might add a good deal.
its looking good so far regardless

Da Boss so far. MY first experiments with Green stuff went OK I think. I added some around the waist to smooth his body out a little, then I made a belt and filled in some of the gaps around the arms.
The Power Claw is yet another Import from my Chaos Bitz. I ground the armor plating off the top of a Chaos Dreadnaught claw, and attached it to the stump of the boss's wrist. To Ork it up a bit I put some shoulder pads over the wrist segments and filled in the bottom with some GS.
I added the strap onto the Shoulder pad arm. I plan on thinning that out once everything dries completely.
Finally I added the cables onto the handlebars of the bike, and balanced the Dakka on the back so you can get an idea for the finished product. My next shots will be when I get around to painting Grakka
Oh, and I added some grenades too because... why not?

Well, after like 8 months I finally get some time to sit down and work on Grakka again (Thanks NEtflicks). My painting skills arent the best but I think I get the point across
Primed Black
The Skin is Orkhide shade, followed by 2 coats of goblin Green, with a highlight of 50/50 G. Green and Skull White
The Bike is Mecharite Red with Blood Red highlights.
The shoulderpad and teeth follow the same pattern with Scortched brown, Bestial brown, a thin coat of snakebite leather then Bleached bone and skull white highlights
The metallic bits are mostly Chainmail (w/ the exception of hte gun rig whit was boltgun metal) washed with Black ink. More highlights to come there later. The wheels are simple chaos black with a scorched brown drybrush (which will fit the painted base)
Then of course the checks and the stripes for Da Claw to ork it up a bit
DAKKA DAKKA!

Agreed about the highlighting, but overall I love the bike especially the handle bars for some reason.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Thanks for the positive reviews lol. I will be doing a little more touching up. I'm debating more highlights on the skin though. depending on what kind of light hes in I'm more or less happy with where Grakka is at.
My next "Curb Stompaz" project will be Mek Senri Volt'ead. I'm thinking a Cannibalized Eldar Jetbike, Orked up with a reverse trike (2 wheels in front, one in back) and a Side car for the KFF
Also, just one last pic for a size comparison, CUZ ORKS IZ DA BIGGEST AN DA STRONGEST!
