My brother dropped his Deff Kopta and it broke. But, it wasn't repairable, at least an attempt to repair it was made but it didn't sit right on the flying base anymore so I decided I'd just make it into a Deff Dread for his army. I kept in mind how rough and basic Ork designs are supposed to work and I think it came out alright. Way better than my Guntank to Dreadnought

The green is Scorpion green over Dark Angels green, the aim was to make it look like they had just quickly thrown it together thrown a coat of paint over it then sent it out to start bashing in skulls. Or cutting stuff

Unfortunately the picture of the back of it came out blurry so I'll take those again later and add them. But, there is an Ork in there; an armless, legless Ork.

Yeah I decided that it would be best if I just kept it obvious that it was a Deff Kopta. It's made out of some Rhino parts I had left over from a Vindicator (Hatches and the front), parts I didn't use for the Drop Pod because I got it for a Dreadnought (the legs of it are the supports that go on the walls). The main body of the Deff Kopta just has those pannels glued directly onto it. Of course it wouldn't be truely Orkish if I didn't cut each piece roughly with a blunt hacksaw

Craptastically Orkish, I like it!!!

Slap a wash over it and do the base, and you're done!

The desighn is really cool, very Orky, hats off to you for rescuing the downed Deffkopta.
The paintjob, however, needs a bit of work,a wash as Nuclear Mekanik suggested would be a big help,as would adding some rust effects, and some definition on the rokkits so they don't blend in with the Dreads "body" would be good, lastly ..for me,the green just dosn't look right,I'd paint it red or checker board it.
Overall though I like it,nice job.

I can change the area under the teeth, its matching the colour scheme for his Ork army so there's no much changes I can do to it. I will add rust to it though, and probably highlight around the arrows on the side of the rokkit launchers.

lol, it reminds of the robot on the moon in Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Day Out.

Seriously though, thats a nice conversion. Well done!

Nice work but it looks more like a Kan than a dread with it's scale maybe?

Theres an Ork inside it and it stands about 1-2cm taller than a SM Dreadnought. It does kind of look like a kan though

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

I hate to say it, because once I do, you won't be able to not think about it like this but: those triangles on the front are unfortunatley placed - it looks like it's in a swimsuit

I really like this. It just goes to show that clouds do indeed sometimes have a 'Silver Lining'.

They're the generic teeth decoration that seems to be on most Ork stuff that I've seen that tries to look like a face.
But it looks like it's capable of both physical and mental attacks

Nice one. I can definitely imagine it lumbering across the battlefield with the kopta blades buzzing around and bits of minced guardsmen spinning off into the distance

So you turned a broken model from AOBR set into one of the most expensive models GW makes? I say that's a big win for the good guys! It's not the prettiest conversion, but it is better than I could have done. Nice job, man.
