Decided to start a plog here for my Space Marines. Here are two recent competitions:

Ironclad dreadnought (scratch built when the codex first came out so it doesn't look as...beastly as the actual model)

And Kor'Sarro Khan (with a head-swap):

Great painting on saro khan , its a shame the figure is so strangey sculpted.

Thanks man, I appreciate it

So these pieces of plastic...err...soldiers of man have been sitting in my army case for about 9 months now. This is their second repaint, so they're not the best thing I've ever painted. In fact, they're pretty terrible. The only thing that brightens them up a bit from looking like utter crap are the purity seals and eyes, honestly. Well, here they are..

Thanks everyone, your comments are appreciated!

I painted my Land Raider here in the better part of yesterday, just finished some small details today. Tried a new technique that acts sort of like holographic art- they're two swords over the text on the top of the LR and over the searchlight housings. What do you guys think of it?

Love the colour scheme, but that land raider (although cool, I love the flames) is straying very close to chaos, with the eye and the eight points....

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I got that LR in a trade and couldn't take the pretty Forgeworld doors off (both morally and because they were pretty well glued on :p) So I just figure my marines, when asked, say "Chaos symbols? What Chaos symbols?"

Over a month without an update...eek...

Well yesterday during classes (what a great time to day dream, right?) I was doodling some ideas that were going through my head when I got this epic vision of a dual-autocannon dreadnought rolling over some Chaos Marine with treads. When I got home I had about 2 hours of downtime and didn't have much to do, so I tried building this thing with posterboard, foamboard and whatever bits I could find. In the end I have to say I'm pretty happy with the results. It would've obviously been better with an actual dreadnought torso, but in the end I think it looks pretty cool and I am going to start painting it tonight too. What do you guys think?

Now that bottom dreadnought is a iron clad

Nice Ironclad with treads, Arkaedin! Only thing I'd like to point out is the one tread that drives over the Chaos marine. Power Armour is supposed to withstand alot, but to be driven over by such a piece of armour, I doubt the shin armour of the Chaos marine would force the tread upwards. I'm for induvidual suspension, but there has to be a limit... heh

Why not instead cut the lower leg to pieces, use a tad green stuff and have the whole lower leg that is pinned under the tread of the Ironclad look like somebody smeared mash potatoes around the tread?

That is a pretty awesome vehicle

There seem to be quite a few gaps needing filled, but otherwise a great concept well executed.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Maybe it's because I was working on at it like 2am and I wasn't thinking properly but I decided the crushed Marine would be an Iron Warrior and since they are "Iron Within, Iron Without" it would be appropriate to make them look ridiculously strong even underneath the crushing weight of a dreadnought. It was a very funny concept at the time, I swear

@Flinty- yeah, thank god I took pictures before priming him because otherwise there would've been some gaps I would've totally missed until it was half-way painted!

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I appreciate them!

Before I paint up the treaded-dread (with the dreaded treads...) I decided I'd paint up my Assault Termy squad. Normally I paint in bulk, but that keeps wearing me out so I decided to just paint one guy at a time. Far less efficient, but I'm having more fun doing it so I'll stick with it for now. Here is guy number one of five named "Gaelen". Kudos to the first who gets the reference (and yes, I purposefully misspelled his name.. I'll do that for all five just because I want to make it at least look like they're from the far-future)

Pics:

Also, as a note, I'm planning on redoing the bases, but I haven't come up with any good ideas so they're staying as is for now.
