Hello everyone, this is my second (and first meaningful, hopefully) post here. I finished the meganob about two months ago (but only took pictures of him today), I think I painted the biker nob sometime this March. As you see, I was experimenting with picture backgrounds and the red one didn't work out too well, but I still post it because it's a more recent pic (for instance, I hope I made the cowskull look better by washing). I plan to finish a fitting base for the biker too and probably will repaint the mini itself to add more detail and highlights.
I do not intend to actually play the tabletop games, but I geniunely enjoy painting and converting (none of the posted minis have anything converted in them, but I have some projects in progress that do involve a lot of that), hence the unrealistic dual-wielding nob. For me, it just has to look sort of cool, that's it Ideally, I would like to evolve into an above-tabletop standard painter some day. Therefore, any constructive or destructive criticism is much appreciated.
There we go!

They look good but you might want to try figuring out your lighting for taking pictures. Details are lost from poor lighting.

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in? |

As far as I'm concerned, you're already above the average tabletop standard.
However, your lighting sucks. Try to get lighting similar to that first pic. Makes things nice and sexay.

The meganob looks pretty good for a relative newcomer to the hobby. My only criticism would be that it look like you overdid it a bit on the hazard stripes. When it comes to black and yellow stripes, less is more. As for the biker Nob, it's hard to discern real details due to the lighting. Although, his pose is a bit ridiculous for someone riding a bike at breakneck speed.

Nice clean paint jobs. The lens is probably my favorite part, or maybe the cables. Nice color choices to make them stand out.
I think the warning strips are a tad over done. I like them on the feet and the iron gob, but I think the shoulders and hands are too much.

Hmm... Now toss some checkers on that Mega Nob and he'll be a Stripes and Checkers Nob, and that would make him unstoppable!
Heh, sorry, I just really like the paintjob on it Looks great in my opinion

For a newbie painter they are very very good and above table top standards, I like your attention to detail as well, all I can say is keep it up!

Actually, I think I'm a rather new painter, those minis up there are my ninth and tenth so far (and the other eightare simple ork boyz). I have a pretty busy schedule, and very limited time to paint (maybe two to three hours a week tops).
Thanks for the props, and yes, I need to work on my lighting more
Does anyone think that the models need more highlighting/washing/drybrushing? Any tips for blending (I think the meganob's face is my best take at that technique so far, but I'm not really very happy with the results yet).
Also, the ridicolous pose of the biker nob is caused by the 'pursuit for coolness', simply because a 'uge axe is more cool than a dull hand on the handlebar

Are you going for the clean look? A devlan mud wash is good to help dirty up models or add a slight rust effect. Q: Since you don't play, what do you do with the minis after you are done painted?

Well, orks doesn't seem to take care of their equipment, so maybe some chipped paint and battle damage would be perfect.

Q: Since you don't play, what do you do with the minis after you are done painted?
I sort of store them in an improvised display case, i.e. in a glass cabinet. My ultimate goal is creating two huge epic dioramas (one for 40k and one for fantasy), but realistically speaking, I don't see it happening in the next 3 to 4 years. For now, I'm just painting individual minis and enjoying it. I might start making something resembling duels or other type of interaction later.
what else are planning on painting next?
Right now, I'm painting a sort of heavily converted chaos terminator lord, an ork trukk and some ork boyz (I have about 7 or 8 of them left). Right after that I think I will be painting Badrukk and the two Ork Warbosses.
Well, orks doesn't seem to take care of their equipment, so maybe some chipped paint and battle damage would be perfect.
Good idea, thanks. I thought that the bullet holes that the model had from the outset are enough. They probably aren't. I probably will add some battle damage then.
I think I will make the lower legs a bit dirtier too, sort of what tanks usually get.
Thanks for the nice comments again! I will make sure I upload updates of these guys (if I make anything significant) and/or my new miniatures as soon as they're finished!

Wow, I really like it, My only problem with it is that it doesn't look very....orky.
Don't get me wrong the armor looks awesome, but it needs more rust. it just looks a little too new to me.
also, you should play the miniature game, what's the fun of painting your forces if you don't get to see them in action?
