I was wondering if anyone here played or just modelled Valhallans that have any good tips for modelling dramatic bases and the such? Also, if anyone has any tips for painting the Valhallans 93rd color, that would be much appreciated, and I am looking for the tutorial on making the barricades from the 4th ed.

Why yes I play Valhallans, what would you like to know about them?
Those are painted with reaper master series paints, I can tell by the hues, they match mine very closely.
Basically it's a chaos black primer, tan overlay on the jacket and hat areas. run a brown wash over it, lightly. Any brown wash or ogryn flesh wash will do. cuffs and pants are a dark jungle green with an olive green highlight.
Pouches are best painted a solid leather looking brown then washed with badab black. Boots are black with 2 highlights of increasingly lighter grey.
The blanket/slingtings are just the same as the boots. also, the same with the metal on the weapons, but with less of a grey highlight and more black on the gun parts.

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time. |

Sorry for the late response, but I would like to know any and all fluff about them, because, as cliche' as it is, I would like to make a book about them, though instead of the used to death Idea of the commander that doesn't want to waste lives, I would like to create a book about a main line trooper under the command of Commander Chenkov. Which is perfect, because I can recreate the battles against Jormungandr with my little brother creating his first army ever-nids.
Here is the little fluff I have on the subject
Under the command of the stern task master Kubrik Chenkov, the valhallan 18th 'Tundra Wolves" wipe out the Vanguard of Hive fleet Jormungandr at Goyan Valley. The swarms of tyranids are crushed under the metal treads of Chenkov's armoured brigades and the Thundering boots of over a million Guardsmen, driven onto the ravenous horde by ruthless commissars
I have read Ice World, and most of ciaphus cain
If anyone has any more fluffs or books about Valhallans, let me know, also, if you know of the white dwarf where they talk of the Valhallans for the first time, tell me what number.
Also, I would like to see pics of Russian snipers during WW2 stalingrad, because I noticed no Vostroyan has a sniper rifle.

For the snipers/ratlings with my army I substitute in widow makers from Warmachine. They fit perfectly and look pretty damn good if I do say so myself.
Fluff wise, other than WD (i don't know what issue), GW released an "Imperial Guard Model collectors guide" that shows bits and pieces of all the different homeworlds and such.
Cheers
