hi.
I started collecting IG. and have several questions as pretty much wh40k noob.
i noticed somwhere in the forum people where talking about taking inqiusitor troops such as sisters of the batlle as allies to their IG regiments. i cant find anything allowing such things in IG codex or rulebook, so can someone shed some light on the subject. Witch army units (if any) can be taken with regular guard units as allies.
I plan to bulid my regiment as sort of vanila imperial guard, with lots of priests, pysikers, ratlings and ogryns. Sort of army that is wh40k imperial themed (if this makes any sence). And ading assasin or iquisitor lord seems like something that would go well with my intended scheme. So can this be done?
Also what is general rule with collecting IG can i mix models from diferent variants of IG like cadians with valhalans or do people generaly stick with one type. I don't want to do conversions as im afraid of how would that turn out.

OK, if you look at the Whitch hunters codex I think that that has a couple of options for allying themselves to others or you could go to www.gamesworkshop.com, and go to the 40K section, then to the Expansions, then go to apocalypse articles.

hmm.. thx, but those apocalypse articles talk about apocalypse expansion where you can ally everything with everything. I am asking about regular wh40k games.

Well, IG can take WH or DH as allies.
Please have a look into the WH or DH codex.
Notice that Assassins can only be taken if the army includes an Inquisitor.
