I was wondering about my little brother's Idea of a Tyranid controlled Planet, and was wondering the feasability of there being a Tyranid Transport Organism that could ferry Nids from one world to the world's moon? I think that these would be like mantarays thats stomach acids were so low in, well, acidity that the Tyranid warrior organisms could ride in them to the planet's moon or another planet in the system. Also, for the game, this would act as a Fast Attack choice so that Tyranid players could have another option rather than just the three. For an armament, you could go for It having two small flesborers, or having it as a weapon organism that could fire a biovores cannon and had a twin-linked devourer.

What do you think?

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

The transports sound like a good idea, but Tyranids only control a planet for as long as it takes to eat it.

If you read the other thread these nids have been cut off from the hivemind so just go back to animal instinct mode.

they way i always saw it was that the tyranids move into a system, i dunno lets say like earth, but their fleet is massive. so couldnt they simoultaneously attack a moon, and a couple of planets at once

Yea thats a cool idea.

Sadly I envisioned the tyranids never travel anywhere, once they are "born" at a planet, they fight and either die or are re absorbed into the hive and transported to the next place as the basic building blocks of organisms in the protein chains and biomass they represent.

Cool idea, but in my mind Tyranids never get to travel, their warrior casts being the ultimate in dynamic expendable resources.

How the Tyranids would really do it is to seed genestealers in a new place...

Trygons and Malefactors used to have a transport capacity for nids, back in epic.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

That would be pretty over powered within 2 turns they would move a possible 30 inches inside a tank. I think that is why they have fleet.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

London (work) / Pompey (live, from time to time)

From what i recall, trygons, malefactors, excorines and harridans all used to transport (harridans were for gargoyles only)

Each could carry a certain capacity determined by wounds on a model.

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Basically they still do in Apoc.
Well, Trygon and Harridan, in any case.
Neither let them model embark, but . . .

Yeah you could actually use the Tau Manta to start and add lumps, tentacles, eyes or whatever you like to make it look tyranid like. Good luck!
