So we all know that many tanks are based on the rhino STC. and many SM players will know that the rhino can attemp to repair itself if it is immobilised.
So my question is why don't predators/vindicators/razorbacks/whirlwinds, get the repair special rule.

Well, first point: The crew of those vehicles might not be that schooled in self-repair, because Predators and Whirlwinds and so on are not that common as Rhinos (which will therefore, statistically, fail more often).
Second point: Ammunition and weapons on those vehicles requires much space. Maybe the tools or auto-repair-systems that Rhinos have were removed in other vehicles to make place for bullets and guns.

That, and because adding the weapons systems means more can go wrong. Instead of it being a faulty mechanical part, now it might be some damaged electronics, or some mechanical exclusive to the vehicle that isn't featured on the Rhino.

Another factor is that a lot of those vehicles can work as effectivley on the move or in a static fire base. The rhino probably also gets a repair rule as its armour is not that strong. So GW would make it more appealing to players by having it able to repair itself

A rhino didnt repair itself.
The crew does this instead of shooting, so maybe the other crews are just too triggerhappy....

Rhino variants trade the self repair systems for more internal bracing, armor and munitions storage.

Fair question though
Would be nice if the imperium cracked the living metal the necrons mastered while we were still bacteria chewing on rocks at the bottom of the ocean.

It like the old John Deere tractor, in it's most basic form it is really easy to fix with whatever you have laying around. The modified STC for the variants add complex systems which make field repairs more difficult.
