I need some inquistoral storm troopers for my INQ army and was thinking of some conversions
here is my reasoning
1) im not going to spend 60$ for some metal models
2) IMO i don't think the stormtroopers are that great

I was going to take some IG conscipts or watever there called and modify them
I was going to replace their clip of ammo with a round thing like off a tommy gun and
add a bunch of wires to their back and add a bunch of Inq detailing
so my final question is how convertable are the model's arms/gun and how could I alter their backpacks(do they even have any?)

use cadian vox heads and fill in the eyehole with gs to make it look like a visor. Much better looking than pig iron imo.

I also used the vox backpack, cut off the tail antenna, the round one, and filed everything off of each side to make the sides flat.

I then cut the las clip off of the lasgun, drilled a hole, drilled a hole in the side of the vox box, and then put a wire connecting the holes.

I would order the deathwatch upgrade pack from GW and use the nice metal shoulderpads. Then you get to say that they have carapace armor (which the standard guys dont have) AND it makes them Inquisitory to boot. You could probably convert the tacticool bolters that come with it into hellguns too if you clipped the muzzles off and replaced them with the end of a lasgun.

Ya'll goin get fisted

You would need 1 helmet and 1 box per st. I am sure you could browse ebay for some good bits finds.

meh i kinda jumped the gun and converted the conscripts to stormtroopers
i checked the DeathWatch Kill Team thing and i think it might make the guys look a bit too big and would take a lotta cutting to fix for guns pressed agains shoulders and head/arm positioning

I stole and idea I've seen a few times online:

Necron skull heads as deathmask style helmets.

I will say there's nothing wrong with Pig Iron heads, all my normal IG troopers have their heavy infantry visored helmet, and aside from needing to pin most of them for good posing it was straightforward enough(burned through a lot of tiny drill bit on my dremel though).

I used the Plastic Scout Kit with the symbols filed off the breast plate, Catachen Legs, Cadian Arms with the weapons connected to the small port in the back of the scout torso with a plastic rod, and Cadian heads, Pretty sharp looking after all said and done.
