Please comment and criticize! This is the first full model I've ever painted (other than a few chaos space marines).

I apologize about the quality of the pictures, the lighting was bad and the camera worse.

Blending and highlighting is very good, especially for a beginner.

Great dark red tones on the skin. I do agree the sword - its not badly painted, its just sticks out a bit much as the colour is such a strong contrast.

Other wise a sweet DP, and well painted.

I like the contrast of the sword. I see too many rust or blood colored blades. Good job.

Nice simple conversion too (wings) which are always funtastic. I like the sword as well; nothing like a glowing blade of blueness to bring pain upon your enemies!

the wings are magnetized for easy storage/travel so there is a small gap that isn't greenstuffed but I'm ok with it for table play

The sword looks a lot better in person IMO. I basecoated it in white then put about 5 layers of blue ink/future mixture giving it a glowing/shiny look that is kinda lost in the pics.

I like the red flesh looks so demonlike. I really would like some advice for making wing's. I might be getting a Daemon Prince soon and I wana customize him ALOT.

I think it looks great! Yuo've done a very good job with the red skin.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the wings though, to me they're way too large for the model.

Still, impressive work, keep it up!

The wings are Games Workshop Dragon wings.

They fit almost perfectly in place of the bits that normally go there. If you choose to magnetize them, go with 2-3 small magnets. The wings are heavy for the amount of contact area you have so one magnet is not enough to hold them up.

I basecoated the wings black, then dry-brushed them with a dark gray from the Vallejo Model Color range (cant remember the name off the top of my head).

The shading/highlighting was done by layering about 5 different shades of black/red gore with the top highlight being straight red gore

That's misleading. It's my first mini that I actually took the time to look good instead of getting it done as fast as possible so i can put it on the table. I started this one with the intent of making it something i could be proud of.

The wings/skin is really nice. For a beginner its really quite something. Should feel very proud!

As for the sword, Im with everyone else.

Awesome Daemon Prince, the highlights are really nice. I'd love to learn how to do that someday to improve my existing large models, but I have no prior experience in doing it.

Also, I kind of like the sword. The colour is an odd choice, but it looks really good anyway.

Very good job. I shall save those pictures and reference them as I slowly work on my chaos army.

I was going to use Balrog wings, but I think those dragon wings are better.

Pretty much identical to my DP I painted a few years back... but mine has a black, very glossy sword instead of a blue one ^^,
